wider frontend

i wanna get that prerunner look but with flared fiberglass fenders and wider stance. so i was wondering whats a good way to widen the frontend without spending $5K+ long travel susp? are looking to get it about 3" per side wider. are there any spindles for the 04+ that are wider? i've searched around about wheel spacers but it just seems to risky, maybe like 1/2"ers but idk. what about more backspacing? if anybody out there has ideas or knows what i should do please . thanks

Glassworks unlimited makes nice fenders for our trucks. I forgot the website but a quick google search will get you what you need.

If you get a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing, that will make each wheel stick out 3.5 inches farther than your OEM 7.5 inch wide wheels (which have 5.5 inches of backspacing). This will increase your overall track width 7 inches.

Why would you want to widen your front end without installing long travel? You wont get that prerunner look without spending tons of cash.

well i want to get the glassworks fenders so it will need to be widend to fill out the fenders or it will look funny. i don't see why it won't look like a prerunner if i do that. sure it might be kinda lame to make it all show but i don't really intend to thrash on this thing out in the desert or anything, i just want the look. so does anybody know anthing about spindles that might widen and lift?

No one makes lift spindles for the 04-07's. You have to buy an entire suspension lift.

Thats my next project when my 33's get low I am going 35's and glassworks fenders. My wheels/tires stick out like 2 inches or more allready so I also need them to protect my body and paint. I was doing the math and my Donahoe coilover gives me 11.5 inches of wheel travel and the JD faB only gives you 14. Thats only 2.5 more for like an extra 3 or 4 grand with install. Very sweet set up and would love to have it but I really looked into it befor I got my coilovers but thats a lot of money for a little over 2 inches. All I need now is someone to make a uniball LCA and get the ***** to go ahead and order my custom rear leafs. Also great news donahoe is thinking about putting a reservoir on their coilovers for the bling factor. I am going to talk to them at the offroad show next weekend and see if I can "test" them for them.

its up to an eight inch lift depending on how you crank the coilovers. It uses the stock spindle so I see no way to get and 8 inch lift out of it. The kit is between 4 and 5K plus you need to have it installed unless you have extensive install ablitly ie cutting the tops out of the shock towers and frame stuff. On top of the 4 to 5k you need fenders and the kit does nothing for the rear. Plan another 3 to 4K for rear bed cage and leafs to keep up with the front. Also plan bump cans at 500 plus install and custom front bumper work. Honestly plan 10k to make your truck a full out prerunner.

10K for a full pre-runner aint that bad though. figure all prices at max right?

5000 for long travel kit
550 For Fenders and painted
4000 for rear bed cage, new leaf packs, and long travel king 2.5 shocks.
600 for rear fenders and painted
not sure about price for rear bump stops, and new front 4X4 axles. say 1000 for both though.

but right there your at 11,150, some installation charges and say your at 13,000. then, you have a ready to go luxury new f-150 ready to do just about anything you want.
