the v10's suck they dont have that much power

hahaha yeah i was thinking the same about the short block

but seriously it would be real easy to throw in a carburated big block, make some engine mounts, get a t5 tranny bolt that in with custom mounts, fab a clutch linkage, fab a shifter, fab a throttle linkage, wire up a msd ignition and hook up the fuel lines, but this would never pass emisions, so if you wanted to drive it on the streets you would have to get real good at swapping back and forth motors when go for emissions

I say slap a blower on it. And while youre at it, a set of headers also.
But if you just want to spend money, ford offers the 5.4 from the Shelby GT500. I didnt see a price though.

Are you insane? The V10 in an F250 smacks the **** out of a Hemi Ram. In a 150 it would kill man.

6.8L Triton® SOHC SEFI 30-valve V10

Horsepower (SAE net@rpm) 362@4,750
Torque (lb.-ft.@rpm) 457@3,250

5.4L Triton® SOHC SEFI 24-valve V8

Horsepower (SAE net@rpm)300@5,000
Torque (lb.-ft.@rpm) 365@3,750

so whats wrong with the V10 ???

why didnt ford put the v10 in the 150 to begin with? as well as the torqueshift?

The 3V V-10 has over 360HP and 400+ torque from the factory, but performace parts are non-existant. No-one has anything available off the shelf for that engine, your only choice is custom parts for big bucks.

As far as emissions are concerned, if you live in an area that doesn't reqiure emissions testing, then do what you want, who is going to know anyway.

If you do make any non-standard changes to the emissions on your truck, do yourself a favor and keep it too yourself, you never know when those d*** tree huggers will pop in and make an issue out of your mods.

i dont know. i read somewhere on here that the crank shaft on em is weak or something..

i was looking at stock torque and at what rpms and 457 at 3250 impresses me

if ur comparing to a stock dodge SRT-10 ram then ...

8.3-liter Viper V10 engine
500 horsepower @ 5600 RPMS , 525 lb-ft of torque @ 4600 RPMS

should the triton be pushing 400+ hp stock.. i think so.. but for what it is, its still a good torque turner

what i have to wonder is how hard do you have to push a 5.4 to reach the torque the 6.8 has stock and is pushing with more ease.

i guess im looking more at alot of reliable power more so then just Alot of Power..

is that why ur wanting to go with a big block in the first case torturekilla ?
