30K Service - What's necessary?

I hit 26K miles, and the truck is in today for oil change and some other minor things.

They are pushing for the 30K service and I passed, told them to wait until I get to 30K (and not 26K )..

What is necessary and what can I skip on? Is the induction cleaning necessary?

I'm in the same boat...27k on mine so will be there soon also. I'm going to have it all done, Coolant flush, tranny and transfer case fluid change, air and fuel filters(change every 10k) and most importantly the plugs! With the horror threads on here about plugs there's no way I'm leaving them in 100k. I work at a dealer and I've heard that the 30k service is a biggie to keep the warranty valid. Thankfully my employee deal is only about $225 for all of it (except the plugs) so its worth the peace of mind. I an very **** about my truck.

Well, I just bought a drop-in air filter (K&N for now).

I will get the air filter and the tranny flush, but reluctant about the induction service. Sounds like BS to me.. Anyone? Is it required?

I'd hold off the coolant service until 50Kish or so, seems like a nice round number to me. Plus Ford doesn't recommend services with Premium Gold Coolant 'till like 100K or 150K.

At 30K, all you really need is a fuel filter, oil and filter change (depending on how often you do yours of course), and I'd recommend a trans service. Induction cleanings aren't really needed - fuels nowadays have all the cleaners and cleansers in them you really need.
