2.5" or 2" with 1.5" AAL?

I just ordered the 1.5" AAL and I'm ready to order the level kit too. I can't decide which one to buy, the 2" or the 2.5". I still want to have a slight rake because of the towing/hauling I do occasionally. Will the 2.5" be level with the rear with the 1.5"AAL or do I need to go to the 2" to make it slightly rake?

I personaly think it depends on which truck you have (ext cab, crew cab, bed length, etc). I have a 2" AS and a rear AAL.

I have a 2005 SCAB FX4 Silver/dark shadow grey with stock 18" FX4 wheels. I want to add the level kit and the AAL for a little lift for the front to run new tires and the back AAL because I tow heavy trailers from time to time. I'm leaning more toward the 2.5" with the 1.5"AAL as long as there is still some rake so it doesn't look butt heavy while towing.

The pictures in your gallery look great! I'm wondering if the 2" would be better for the towing? Yours looks more level than a rake which is good but i hate the butt sagging while towing.

Here is a link to Stragums truck. We did a 2 inch AS in the front and a 1.5 AAl in the rear:

In my opinion i would use the 1.5" AS check my gallery and you can see you still retain some of the factory rake but truck looks much more respectable now. Also the upper ball joint and the drive shaft are not at an extreme angle.

I have the same truck with the same setup (2 inch AS with 1.5 AAL). Check out my gallery. I see the truck about level with about 700 pounds of tongue wgt.

I did the 2" AS and the 1.5" AAL. Still plenty of rake. I do not tow and occasionally haul a 4 wheeler in the bed, but I would definately do the 2.5" AS if I was doing it again.

Thank you for all your input. I ordered the 1.5" AAL yesterday and was on the fence about 2" or 2.5" for the front. After looking at all the pictures (which i appreciate) I have decided to go with the 2.5" for the front. The guys at Autospring are very helpful and I would recommend their customer service any day. Thanks for everyone's input. Now I wait...

ktexas sorry I couldnt post a pic earlier but here is a pic I just went and took for you with a 2.5 autospring and a 1.5 skyjacker add a leaf.

after this winter I will be putting on my 285/70r17's If I cant swap out for a set of FX4 18" rims either way I would go with a 285 series.

I have alot of wheel well to fill up.

You will be glad you went with the 2.5" over the 2.0". There will still be plenty of rake with the aal, and depending on how heavy of a trailer you want to pull, it will maintain a level look when hooked up. Post some pics when you are all set up.

I did the same. I think a 2.5" would have been much up front, I do have a 2wd.
