I'm thinking Goldylocks here.

5.5' is disproportionate to the rest of the truck, IMO. Bobtail Supercabs look weird to me. Functional, sure, and for folks that don't need the 6.5 or 8' beds, they're perfect. They just look really strange to me.

8' is getting carried away. These trucks already don't exactly turn on a dime; another foot and a half of bed length isn't making things any easier, especially if you have to manuever through a tight parking lot. These too look way out of proportion to me.

6.5'. Nice compromise of bed length, overall truck length, asthetics. You can probably guess what I have.

144.5" on the 6.5' bed supercab versus 150.5" on the crew cab with a 6.5' bed. So what is that, 6 inches?

As far as 5.5' bed S'cabs, the main reason I got one was I wanted something different than everyone else, and also I hardly ever use the bed.

Another reason to love the F150. Everyone can get a bed that fits their needs. I choose the 5'5 because it will actually fit in my garage and its all I need in a truck.

If you want a supercab, I will let you take over the lease on my 06' 4x4 with the 5.4 motor.. $180 a month until 2/08 with $0 down.. The truck has 8,300 miles currently, and it is a 24k mile lease. The borla, tonneau, and wet okoles will not come with the truck.. It has a speedliner spray in bedliner that is not shown in the pictures. E-mail me at: tylerschneider@msn.com if you are interested..

Not a problem! They are very nice trucks... You will enjoy one. My personal preference is the supercab as well. The front driver and passenger areas have a little more room in the supercab versus the supercrew according to Ford's specifications.

I have had two trucks with the 6.5 and I have always thought the 5.5 would be too short, motorcycles and such won't fit. go with the 6.5 it looks the best in proportion also.

I have a 6.5', the only short comming is if you want to do the camper thing. You can slide them in, but the CG doesn't work. You're limited to the "pop-up" slide ins that don't have quite as much weight.

Even hauling more than plywood it works great, and I loop the cables over the pins when I haul some long 2x4 lumber to keep it in.
