I have a 4.6 liter and I have the following performance mods:

Edge level 2
Silencer Removed with K&N

I have $100 to spend on some exhaust to help the truck exhale better. I am thinking of maybe a 50 series flowmasters, maybe dynomax bullet, or magnaflow.

I want to get it dumped, and I am not looking for anything loud (I had a 40 series SIDO on a GMC I had, and it was louder than I want for sure).

Opinions/suggestions?

I have Flowmaster 40 and it hurt performance slightly but sounds very good. Not sure what you will get for $100. Mine was $225 installed with pipes out the back, 3" by 18" tips.

How so?

I have read that the Flowmaster design causes a loss of torque and I could feel it on this truck and my 02 Silverado as well. Although, it seemed more noticable on the F150. I like the sound of the 40 series and am satisfied. I really don't miss that extra performance.

You know, in all sincerity, I sensed a little bit of that too, but after a very brief while, it really wasn't a concern at all.

I had the stock muffler removed and installed the Flowmaster 40 series in its place. (no additional pipe)
Did not notice any loss in power, but the drone in the cab is horrible.

ive got a sound clip of im working getting posted, and ive got a dynomax bullet dumped. Sounds great, extremely cheap even when you buy new (like 50-55 new) I bought mine for 20 and it cost 20 to weld it on, and cut off the old one. So no complaints from my 40 dollar exaust set up.

Ive also got a video in the works of my truck after i gutted two of my cats, for the sound difference (basically just a little louder).

I put a Magnaflow on my truck and I love it. No drone like my last truck with Flows.

For what it's worth... here's the Magnaflow 16614 (I think that's the model) on my KR while on the dyno. It's going to push up over the $100 mark but, IMO, it was the best decision for me and no low-end loss at all... in fact, I felt a difference after installing it and it alone.

Magnaflow 12226 FTW! Had one on my previous truck, will be putting one on this truck soon and dumping it just after the axle. Not too loud, not too quiet, and only $50 with free shipping off eBay. I then spent $20 to pay my friend to help me weld it in.

Ive got your same mods and I went with an 18" aluminum magnaflow and had it dumped over the axle with all my stock piping... Got the magnaflow for 65.00 and installed for another 50.00... Good luck!
