Max Tailgate load?
Max Tailgate load?
Does anyone know about the max weight that the tailgate can hold? I need to load a safe and with 2 guys standing on it and lifting the safe Im probably looking at a little over 800 lbs - Ive seen pictures of guys loading motorcycles on this forum so I assume Id be alright.
Why do you need to stand on the tailgate to load it ?
Just lay some moving blankets down on the tailgate, tilt it up from the ground and push it in, that way the moving blankets will follow. The strap it down.

I think the tailgate is the least of your worries.

Take the tailgate off....it's easy to do...problem solved.
On my '65 F-100, I tilt the tailgate down...then use the blanket technique...the Liberty D-23 was easy to load.
