Fabtech with dirt logic height???

I have a 2006 f150 2wd and am looking at adding a 6" fabtech lift but am looking to upgrade to the dirtlogic shocks and coilovers, what i am wondering is what is the added height i recieve on the coilovers up front and do the rear shocks add any extra height, or do they just allow for more room?? I already have a AS 2.5" up front and want to keep this, but am just wondering what the added height is if any to the front and rear, and since i do not offroad, if the rear shocks is only a small gain, and i could keep my stock shocks and add a leaf spring instead then i may do that, i am just very interested in the front coilovers, thank you.

If you add the 6 inch lift with coilovers to your set-up, you could keep the 2.5 with no crank and keep a good ride... or you could lose the 2.5 and crank the coilovers which will lose some ride quality. If you did both your ball joint and CV angles would be so out of whack you probably wouldnt be able to drive the truck... In the rear... It is impossible to achieve extra hight from a shock(except the adjustable ride height shock that rancho and bilstein makes which is for stock front coilovers) You will have to upgrade your shocks in the rear from stock to any 6 inch lift shock of your choice... keep in mind, any lift kit you buy that lifts the rear will include extended shocks(for the rear)

So i recommend get the lift kit with the coilovers... keep the 2.5 AS... DO NOT CRANK COILOVERS ON TOP OF THE 2.5AS... and use the extended shocks that the kit comes with in the rear...

thank you, so you are saying i will gain no height in the front with the coilovers, because i will not crank them up, but i will gain ride quality???

No im saying that (if you leave the 2.5AS) you shouldnt crank for extra height because it will throw your ball joints and CV angle out of whack. If you desire to crank your coilovers(which will deminish your ride quality) you should take the 2.5AS off. Anytime you raise your ride height using only a spacer or cranked coilovers(without using dropped crossmembers which are included in your 6 inch kit.) in the front you will increase wear on your ball joints and cv angles. What the 6 inch kit does is it makes you achieve a 6 inch lift while keeping your stock cv angles and ball joint angles. Anytime you stray from your stock angles you are adding extra pressure on stock parts.

If you want to achieve higher than a 6 inch lift I would look into getting the CST lift(im not sure if it is available for 2WD's) which is an 8 inch lift

ok, thank you, i think i may just stick with the basic crossmember kit without anything dirt logic, i can get the 6" lift and then use the 2.5" AS so i will have 8" in front (am i correct) and then use the 4" blocks and a 3" leaf spring in rear. Would this seem to work, without horrible stress anywhere on the joints???

Good idea... you should do the basic kit without coilovers(unless you want to offroad) and keep the 2.5AS then you should have 8.5 inches up front... Fabtech makes a 5" block... i would recommend the 5"inch block plus a stock 4x4 block in the rear... I have the 2 Inch Add A Leaf kit and it made my truck ride way more ruff than with just blocks...

now you do not see a problem stacking the 2 blocks, safety wise, i have heard its not the best idea, but i am not sure, its cheaper for the 2, and i would do that if i coudl, the 2 blocks are easy to install and cheap

In the rear of my truck i have my stock 2" 4x4 block and a 3" pro comp lift block and my add a leaf... that is how the kit came and was made to be installed.(besides the add a leaf) also the rize 8 inch lift kit comes with a 5" block that is made to be put on top of your stock 2" block(rize only makes lift kits for 4x4's)

For the 2wd's CST makes a 7inch kit. You could fab their 8 inch for the 2wd. I've seen a couple 2wd's with the 8.
