Where do you purchase your lift kits?

just like the title suggests. where's a reputable place with good prices?

also, i don't want this to turn into a fabtech vs. Rize debate. i know the rize is badass, but for a DD that won't see anything offroad besides the odd sand dune or light duty trail, which is better. i read something about the fabtechs and the steering rack that the Rize corrected, but is it an issue for a non offroader? i want to clear 37's with little or no rubbing. thanks.

then deffinatly go with the rize if you want 37';s and little or no rubbing

i have the rize and 38's and have some rubbing when turned and bump....

thats what josiah is running right not except Im not sure if he has the AAL. He does rub though I am pretty sure.
for the price I would also check a local suspension shop. They usually have them cheaper since you dont have to pay shipping.

Someone buy me a fabtech.. Secret Santa or something.

:)

Big Slick 10-26-2006 11:16 AM

sooo..for a mostly street truck, would there be any disadvantage running the fabtech? that is, from a purely mechanical/functionality standpoint.

pro comp with coilovers 2000$ on 4wheelonline.com

im buying that im tired of shoppig for lifts this site is giving me the bug...... i really have to stop coming in here....... all my $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is going out the window.. lol

also ive seen 37 on the 6 inch procomp with coilovers maxed out.. i think it gives you like 1 inch more? if not mistaken.........

Go with the Rize, the ride on the street is supposed to be great. With DL coilovers the ride is ok on the street, I still need to fine tune the pressure inside the cylinder (very small), a quick release of air will drop it 10psi.

There is a good bit of trimming to fit 37's, but don't let me discourage you. I am probably going to install a 3" body within the next month or so...this'll be fun. Also considering a supercharger right now, just need a good local tuner. Have an old dyno shop I worked with who might be able to help me out there.

Big Slick 10-26-2006 01:08 PM

maybe i'll suck it up and get the Rize then. I couldn't find the price of the AAL's for the fabtech online, but I'm sure they're a couple hundred. combine that with the Fabtech and DL coil overs and it's only a little more for the Rize. I'm looking for a truck right now and want to find all the parts for the lift that i want to do. I'd rather not cut up a new (to me) truck anyhow...

also, anyone got a line on Weld wheels? jut curious what the average 20x10 would run....

edit...n/m just found them on discount tire. $500/wheel is insane. i'll stick with the Hulks or 951's. (i know, i know) but at least they're not 2K for the set.

I got mine done at 4 Wheel Parts

When it's all said and done, you are better off getting the Rize instead of trying to turn a 6 inch lift into an 8 inch. At first that was what I was going to do, but the Rize just solved all of the problems. Plus, you are correct, the steering system on the Rize is great.

yeah and bad cv and ball joint angles to go along with it. and the fabtech with coilovers is around 2500 anyway.
