Are the 2004 and newer F150's Built Better than the Pre 2004 Models?

What year was that F150?
Glad you made it only with a crushed left foot, it looked like it could have been much worse
that was my wifes 05 F150 STX, I have a 04 screw and she has a new 05 to replace that one the truck has just turned 2000 miles and we haddent even made a payment yet. because we were not seriousley injured(ie..broken legs, arm, head injury) we went out and bought another one.
I would deffinetly recommend the new F150 ffor the safety factor.

Yes, but listen carefully while test driving!
I would certainly say they are built better, yes.
But just watch out for weird rattles and squeeks.
My 1998 had 1 minor issue (connector between two cables rusted out and came apart under truck, had to replace it) the entire 7 years I owned it!
But my 2004 has enough rattles, squeeks and engine whine to drive a person crazy
. I cannot wait until the '09's come out, this '04 is going bye-bye
as soon as I can get my hands on the redesign. Between the rear window squeek, the bed squeek, the rear passenger door rattle, and the damn rattle of the jack (which I have never used so why is it rattling?), and the absolute worst, the high pitched whine every time you step on the gas from the engine
, I am SO ready for the Next F-150.

Define better built......
1997 F150: 127,000 miles.. in the shop 1 day in 8 years for a short in a wire harness.
2005 F150: 8,500 miles.... in the shop for approx. 1 month total in a year's time and going back in next week.
Crash ratings, maybe... the rest of it, hell no.

I have been 100% happy with my 2005 F150. Much more of an all around good vehicle than just a truck like the previous model. The previous model is still a nice truck bit the 2004+ is just a huge improvment especially in the ride department.
My 01 F-150 Supercab had an annoying "bedhop" while driving on the freeway. Current truck does not.
I did like the transmission on the 01 better, seems like my 04 tranny gets confused easily, shifts all over the place at times.

nearing 20k in my 06 and not a ****ing noise or rattle best thing that i could ask for from a hemi to this......not a chance ill ever go back to that problem prone POS dodge........ oversteer chevys can suck my nads.. my truck is a god......
Had an 01 and now an 05. The 01 was a great truck but the 05 is MUCH quieter and tows much better. Seats are more comfortable as well.
My '01 was totalled when an illegal allien w/ no insurance ran a stop sign at 55 and broadsided us. Only reason we lived was b/c of the F150. So like others said above, I bought a replacement F150.

has anyone seen chevy's new half *** boxed frame for the 07-08 1500's?
there cross members dont even go all the way through the rails.. and they skimped and made the frame C channel from the last cross member back...
i just love how they say this is a more efficient design
chevy's copy'd off of the 04+ F-150 in so many ways its pathetic.
o well.. big game of who can one up the other better.. which is good for us!
