04+ Single cab shorts beds w/ 5.4's are impossible to find

I've been lookin all over for a Black (and I guess I'd settle for blue) 04+ regular cab short bed with the 5.4 for weeks/months now and I still havent found anything! I've checked autotrader/cars.com/carmax/vehix/google/ebay and still have found nothing. These trucks just dont exsist in the chicagoland area.

Yep... sadly it seems the demand for real trucks has declined over the years. I see nothing but 4-doors driving around but I love my reg cab.

I guess that you regular cab owners are better at traveling and packing stuff better than I am. I got spoiled with having 2 4-door Explorers and a Mountaineer, and I ended up getting a Supercrew over a Supercab when I bought the F-150. Then again, when I had the pontoon boat, I didn't really see a point in having the guests in one vehicle while I pulled the boat, so that thought did influence my decision to buy the Supercrew. I tell you what though, I know it was a lot more comfortable for my sister, her fiance, and me to travel to and from Norfork Arkansas (about 7-8 hours from Jackson, MS) in my Supercrew instead of my sister's Taurus since my sister is shortest at 5'9" and her fiance is tallest at 6'2" or something like that. No matter who sits in the front of the Taurus, the person in the back wasn't going to have leg room.

They're as rare as hen's teeth.
People still drool over mine, I ordered it.
I don't think Ford builds many 'on spec', there isn't big profit in just putting just that one option (engine) on a truck.

And when people do order a truck, they tend to keep it longer, hence the slim pickings.

Good luck in your search.

p.s.
By rare I mean I've been here for seven years and not counting the Lightnings, I seen about ten 2wd drive, shortbed, regular cabs with the 5.4L out of over 100,000 members.

I dont ever take that many people anywhere its usually just me and my girlfriend. The kids are grown and I didnt see the use of having the extra doors.

thats exactly what i was looking for when i bought my truck. luckily enough a local dealer had one in inventory. it wasnt EXACTLY what i wanted becuase it came with the 3.55 ration and no foglights, but it was as close as i was going to get without special ordering.
