back rack installed

I got my back rack in and put it on about a week ago. I think it looks pretty cool and it's useful. I got a new cb antenna as well. I am either gonna move it up to the top and center it or get another one for the right side. I am also planning on mounting some lights on there and wiring them to come on when I put the truck in reverse. anyways, there are all kinds of accessories you can get for the back rack to mount lights and you can also use it to tie stuff off. installation only took about 10 minutes but I had to remove the bedliner in the process.

Doesn't look bad at all. You need to scrape off that one sticker that is hidden behind the right upright bar.

Couldn't help but notice the Alabama sticker on the sliding window. Sorry but can't help myself...Wooo Pig Sooie.

I would just because it is partially blocked by that thick bar. I think your other ones are fine since it's the small bars that are going through them. Maybe it's just me but I think it would look better with that sticker either removed from behind that bar or relocating it elsewhere.

About that game on Saturday...your right. It could go either way.

[QUOTE=captain morgan8] installation only took about 10 minutes but I had to remove the bedliner in the process.

Not bad, I've considered getting one in the past. I'm curious how hard it was to install, did you have to do any drilling, or were all the holes you needed already there? And after installation were you able to slide the bedliner back in no problems with the back rack in place? Was the bedliner hard to remove? Anyways, since I've thought about it so many times now I finally have someone to ask who's installed one himself!

Thanks for any info! Looks good!

I got it from http://www.truckspecialties.com/backrack.htm for $270 shipped (deduct $20 if you dont have a toolbox). I didn't have to drill any holes. all you have to do is bolt the mounting bracket to the back rack, and then mount that to the bedrails. you have to remove the bedliner because an L-shaped bolt is used to hold the back rack on. to get the bedliner out, all I did was lift up on the end up it and pull it up from the front and slide it out. you could put the bedliner back in if you cut a hole in it big enough for the bolt, but I am going to get a spray-on bedliner pretty soon so I opted not to put it back in.

not trying to be rude but what is the purpose. i know the "fuller" ones are to stop 2x4's from going through your back window or stuff like that and the roll bars for rolling over. but this one?

I believe the main purpose of the back rack is to conveniently mount warning lights your truck, without having to drill through the roof or use magnets that scratch the paint. it also somewhat protects the cab and rear window from damage, and you can use it to secure cargo.

It's definately not my look (no stickers or clutter for me), but if it suits your look, then it looks like a solid addition. I just like the clean look.
