Break in time?
What's the opinion on the break in miles on these trucks? I just got a new 06 Lariat 4x4 and immediatly put a whipple on it. LT headers and new exhuast go on next week. It's all I can do to keep my foot out of it and I don't want to stress the motor too early.

I've said it B4 and I'll say it again:
The moment you drive out of the deakership. |
I wouldnt head off to the race tracks right after I bought a new truck. just drive like you normally would. the only break-in period that I'm aware of is the 500 mile wait before you hook anything up to the trailer hitch.

this is one of those opinion-based topics these days.
You'll hear many theories. but, the one thing I have heard (and have no idea about the truth behind it) is the one good thing to do is to vary the speeds and RMS to give break-in as opposed to always driving at 1800 RPMS and 45 MPH for example. Again, not sure if it is true...just passing possible info along :help: |
