Oil weight and air temp

I know that Ford recommends the 5-20 syn oil for the '04, but we are dealing with over 100' temp daily down here, and I wonder if 20 weight is really good enough? Any thoughts. ? They don't list an alternative in the Ford book.

Yes, it's good enough. The 5W20 weight is also important for proper operation and longevity of the variable cam timing system.

Thank you Quintin., I'll keep puttin' it in, then.
I have only 45,000 mi. on it and just started to notice that I could hear some ticking. Thought maybe the oil was too thin. Don't think I heard that before, but I am changing it at 3000 mi.
Will continue.
thanks again,
