Not as tacky as paint chips all over a painted bumper, not to mention rust from your road salt.

The difference between a STX 2wd 4.6L and XLT of the same is only $1620. and you get so much more with the XLT. Why hassle with a bunch of parts when you can buy the right truck from the start?

What's more, the STX has no power and is only available in the 4.6L. So it's not possible to throw a bunch of parts at it to make it into a real XLT for the STX price tag.

Other options like reverse sensing is not even an option on the STX. Therefore, the STX is a deal breaker.

My STX does me just fine. Granted, the only things I wanted was power windows/locks but never had 'em before so I am used to it. The other thing I like about the STX is the vinyl, not carpet floors. Easy to clean and you dont have to worry about muddy boots after work.

A 5.4l would be nice, but the XCal II from Troyer takes care of that. Raced a '04 XLT SCab 5.4L and was a fender ahead the whole time up to about 85 MPH where he just had more top end and eventually overtook me. Not bad with .8L less than him.

Personally, I prefer the XLT above all the other trim models, it's just a beautiful truck, inside & out. Lariats/FX4's seem too fancy for me for the interior.

Click the pic below for my gallery/mods (not a lot of 'em), but my STX is just right for me....the price was too @ $19,980 with the dealership paying off $3,600.00 and taking the '97 F-150 with blown engine I had previously. That for a brand spanking new 4x4?

Fog Lamps are not standard on the STX. They are a $140 option (2007 models).

My brothers got an 05 F-150 STX. It makes for a perfect work truck being that were all in Construction.

Get in the truck with muddy boots, and all you got to do is take a light hose and spay out the mood. The Rubber floors are very durable.

The only thing I really do hate on the STX's is the Instrument cluster, no tack at all, all you got is one big MPH readout in the middle.

STX's do make for a perfect work truck
