Exclamation Fuel Filler Door

I just noticed that my fuel filler door will not stay shut. Is this a common problem with the new F-150? Is it a latch or a spring in the hinge? I never paid much attention to how it worked, but now the door stays partially opened all the time.

Have you washed your truck lately and used the hose in the fuel door or some kind of air pressure? Usually that how it breaks. The plastic spring is garbage, you can get fixed with the waranty. $25000 truck with a .04 cent spring, go figure.

Lots of people have broken their fuel door since 2004.
I handle mine with kid gloves due to the fact the hinge assy. is cheap.

Thumbs down

Mine is sprung too. It is held in place with Velcro right now until I find a better door or assembly. The part that the door is attached to is $50.00 at the dealer!! I was careful with mine but it still broke, no pressure, just worn out.

Mine has broken twice. I open and close it as if it were made of glass.
