I've been using RP in my trucks now for about 8yrs....I really like it in combo with K&N oil filters.....IMO..my truck seems to run better...idles smoother...I calculate my mpg everytime I fill up...and I get about 1-2 mpg more with RP...plus I don't have to change oil as much.....which offsets the higher price you pay.....just my opinion....

well I guess I just want too make sure its not fish oil or smoke and mirrors. I just ordered 7 quarts (50 bucks shipped) I plan on changing every 5000 religiously. I'm about 300 miles out from the truck first oil change. I guess you get what you pay for (something I learned the hard way with the past 3 vehicles)

I never understood what you guys are talking about when it comes to out-performing the X brand. Unless you are absolutely abusing your truck, why spend so much on a product that you will probably never get a significant return on. The scheduled maintainence book that comes with the truck suggests changing the oil every 5K anyway, unless you haul and tow alot. The standards that define the grade of oil required in these trucks is actually exceeded by most popular brands of oil. I think the one thing to stick with is an oil filter with the anti-drain back valve, but why the oil? Don't flame me here, I am just asking an honest questions about the "advantages".

i use racing 21 royal purple oil. i change the filter every 3000 miles and the oil i use for up to 10.000.now i have a good friend at royal purple that i am getting the oil from and is testing it for me. it is still going strong at 8600 miles. now yes it is 12.XX a quart. but it has also shown to have it,s advantages and has shown to increase horspower as well. i believe in it firmly due to the way it has performed for me for the last five years in everything i have owned. all failures i have had in all racing engines have never been due to the oil or the lubrication. yes being a mechanic if you do the maintenance like it is outlined in the manual it will last a long time. IMO i like having the piece of mind knowing that if i can spend a little more money now to increase the life more later it is money in the bank.

Please explain how this oil increases your gas mileage. Just curious. Also, have you tried to get 10K out of some of the other synthetics with bad results? Mobil One makes the 5, 10, and 15K oils now.

you guys are suckers to marketingi really dont see how an oil thats been in an engine for 20,000 miles can protect better then a regular oil canged every 3,000. using whats recomended and changing when you supposed to gives me piece of mind.

i dont believe that mentioned gas mileage in there. as for marketing. no. as for results that i have seen and experienced. yes. sure everyone can throw a bearing in a press and prove there;s is better. but i am going by my own experiences and those close to me which i have seen for myself. it's mine!! i have seen royal purple add at least 5 hp to a vehicle when all oils are used in all places. seen it and done it. not saying that 5 hp is a lot. but i believe firmly in the make up of it and how it works. yes regular oils will work. but i believe that oils such as royal purple and mobil one work better. i think it is a little funny that someone can and will spend thousands of dollars on a truck or vehicle to make it there own and perform perfect and then skimp on something such as oil saying it is too much. it is the lifeblood of the engine. i will always use royal purple now and forever.
