Question which exhaust? and intake?

I know this has been asked before but I would like to get some owner advise. I have been looking at getting a flowmaster 50 and a fram boost intake kit, anyone object to anything, im not looking for loud sound just good and solid sound and to gain a few horses, tourqe, and if lucky fuel economy.

I too am looking, here is what I found:
  • There is no clear consensus on a favorite intake.
  • There is no clear consensus on a favorite exhaust.
  • You can read until your eyes pop out of your head and you still won't find a clear favorite on anything.
  • If you debate what you want, you will never end up buying anything, instead you will keep reading good and bad reviews on every different intake/exhaust and your opinion will change everyday.
  • Just bite the bullet and buy what you are leaning towards, you have an idea of what you want, if you ask others opinions...well just remember, opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one and most of them stink!

For what it's worth, I bought the Volant CAI last night and will get a Magnaflow in about a month.

Good luck!

I am happy with my 18" Magnaflow, it's throaty, but not obnoxious... I have had Flowmaster in the past and have nothing negative against them. Havent heard of the intake you mentioned, I went the cheap route and dropped in a K&N filter and removed the silencer (4.6 only i beleive). Good luck!

From the little that I know..I wouldn't chose either...For exhaust I have heard great things about MagnaFlow and Banks .. and for intake I can only think of three ..AirForce 1 , Airaid and Volant..

I like my set up exhaust Aeroturbine------->http://www.aeroexhaust.com/?flash=1
Airaid cai------------------>http://www.airaid.com/intakes_ford.asp

i couldnt of sumed it up any better, this is exactly right. just buy what you want when it comes to stuff like this. they are too close in comparison to pick one over the other.

+1!!

But, for what it's worth...I bought a JLT RAI and Superchips tuner, tuned by Doug at BamaChips.com. It hasn't come in yet so I can't give you a review yet. Just another option for you to look at.

AF1 & Magnaflow is my personal choice because supposedly they make the most hp & torque

A K&N 77 Series intake and a Flowmaster SIDO is what I have and I like it.

Cool Intakes and exhaust

I have the K & N FIPK with the drycharger cover. I also have the banks monster exhaust SISO. It isn't really loud, just throaty until you step on it then you can hear it well. I like the combo, but I haven't heard of anyone that has gotten any real MPG with these items.

I have been debating about which, if any intake to put on. Since I have heard that for the little improvment that an aftermarket intake system will get you it isn't worth the money on the 04-06 F150's with the 5.4L. If I do end up putting one in, I am probably going to go with the Volant system, and for exhaust I already have a custom bent exhaust with IMCO hotrod muffler SI/SO. There is no drone and it has a deep growl when on the go pedal.

Here is my 2 cent's. I have the Magnaflow SIDO 16614. Volant CAI, and Troyer's Xcal2. The only thing that i would change is the Volant. I had my truck down to Troyers for the Dyno day a couple of months ago, and my truck didn't make the power that the others did with the AF1. Plain and simple. I currently have removed the lid on my Volant and can notice a difference that i feel that the AF1 delivers. I feel that the Volant is restricted with the lid on and once you remove it you can see why the AF1 is the way to go. The Volant is pretty, but if you want the performance, I would do the AF1.

I concur! I absolutely LOVE my Maggie / AF1 combo.

Wanna hear it? Hard to really get a great feel for it but, it's not too bad... CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO. Putfile.com is kind of slow so be patient...

That's a Magnaflow SISO 16612 and Air Force One intake...
