Icee + Seats = Mad Daddy

Ok, so my son was climbing out of the back seat with his Icee. Bumped his knee on it and now my drivers seat is wet. I've wiped all the icee up, but should I wipe the whole seat down with a wet rag? Or just let it dry?

I would shop-vac all the sugary/sticky liquid up, then soak it with soap and water, shop vac that out and repeat til it comes up clear. When done, throw a fan on it for a couple hours with the doors open to prevent mold/mildew. Wiping it down with a wet rag isnt going to accomplish what you need done and letting it dry wont make it look any better.

Seat Covers

I hope you get the seat clean, but take something away from this. The first thing I did after buying my truck was to invest in some seat covers. Why? Because I took one look at the interior of my MPV that had suffered at the hands of two kids, and it looked horrible. I wasn't going to allow that to happen to my truck. There are many covers to choose from, and a couple hundred bucks and 3 or 4 cans of ScotchGuard will cover all your seats and carpet............And that's a hell of a lot cheaper than replacing that stuff.

A hot day scenario with my kids:

"Daddy, can we get an Icee?" "Hell NO!!!! Your not drinking that in my truck!!! You can get some water when we get home!" lol

The Bissell Green Machine does work wonders...especially when the spill is still wet.

If it's dry...try Tuff Stuff (I think that's what it is called). It's in a yellow and red aerosol can and you can get it at any parts store. Years ago when I was a manager at a Texaco, one of my new guys got some real bad oil foot prints on a biege carpet of a Cadillac. That stuff got it out pretty darn good. I was impressed and the customer didn't even notice.

The baby puke...Nature's Miracle at the pet store. But becareful...it can discolor the carpet.

If it get stained and Im upset about it I can always put my factory gray oem covers back on. Or sooner or later there will be some more black OEM cloth covers on E-bay.

I always advise you proceed with caution when using stain removers. If you use a stain remover and the stain doesn't come out, chances are very good that you just permanently set that stain. I have seen this happen many times and when this happens, professional detailers and carpet cleaners can't even get around it. I know locally I can get several of the big carpet cleaning companies to clean my truck for anywhere between $15 - $40.

How about this, my truck is now 3 weeks old, my 2 year old thought it would be fun to color on the tan leather seat with a pen...I have no freakin idea where a pen came from, but needless to say, it's on my seat now.

I did, I just got home and found that she also colored on the back of the drivers seat with it too. I am still trying to figure out how she smuggled a damn pen in my truck, I had to pick her up and put her in the truck and she didn't have it then. I think one of my other daughters was an accomplice to the crime...hmmmmmmmm
