2008 Diesel 4.4L V8
2008 Diesel 4.4L V8
All signs are starting to point to a 4.4L V8 diesel in the 2008 F150.
A poster goes on to point out that the engine is actually based on the Lion V6 diesel, built in the same factory.
Another promising sign, if you 'Build & Price' a 2007 Expedition (in the Future Vehicles area), they have a "Future Options" area that allows you to "vote" for a diesel upgrade option (as well as a Hybrid option).
Autoweek reports that Ford is developing a 4.4-liter diesel V8, slated for the F-150 pickup and possibly the Expedition SUV.
Apparently the new diesel is a supersized version of the twin-turbo 272 hp 3.6-liter V8 (right) manufactured for the 2007 Range Rover at Ford's Dagenham Diesel Center in England, and would likely be produced there and shipped to the U.S.

they added 2 cyliders to it and it will require a compacted graphite iron block, in order to supply the 330 hp desired for it... and also an estimated 515-520 lb ft of torque. .... making it more powerful than the 7.3L of old... except with only 4.4L displacement
If it is a $4-$5k option you might as well buy a diesel F250 and get more truck for the money.

I'd love that, I'd let 'em build it for a few years, work out any kinks and grab one in 2010-2011. Right about when I would want to trade in the '06. That, and I'd love to see what you could do it the diesel, a tuner/intake/exhaust upgrade path means a whole new world in diesels.
Plus I could care less if it was a $3k option, diesels last longer and better mileage, it all works out in the end.

I would love to have a diesel in a 150 that would be awsome!!!!! It would nice to have more go when pulling a trailer granted I could get the mess stopped.
It will be tough not to get one when they come out, there will be some bugs 6.0 had plenty.

there will be multiple PCM's in each truck..one for engine management one for transmission management and this a minimum
