there will be multiple PCM's in each truck..one for engine management one for transmission management and this a minimum

On another note, the resale of the Superduty "work truck" capable of hauling well over 2500# payload will most likely outshine the measly 1,400# payload in the "grocey getter" F-150... and that's before deducting for the added weight the diesel will impact the F-150's payload. Of course, until it's on the road, we'll never know for sure.
I would buy one, but I would be very skeptical. My other truck is an 02' Excursion with a 7.3. I have a chip, exhaust, and cold air. I would'nt trade that truck for a 6.0 even if they paid me. And I belive that if you are pulling the power of a big engine out of a little one you are putting too much stress on it which leads to premature failure (like the 6.0). Just my opinion.

I love my F150 for a driver, but for towing I have out grown it, so to speak. If Ford does put a diesel in the F150 then, I will probably get another. But if no diesel I am getting a SuperDuty for my next truck.

the theory here is that an f150 is a 1/2 ton truck, costing you allot less than any other diesels ford has for registration. in pa its 150 a year to register the 3/4 ton trucks
plus its getting better gas mileage than the larger v8 diesels (they claim 31 highway)

the 6.0L is not built by ford, its built by Navistar International, for ford.
this is being developed by ford due to the issues with the 6.0L
ford sued navi-international for all the issues w/ the six oh and then navi-international countersued due to the development of a ford diesel engine (it violated their contract)

Its called CAN or controller area network. all the computers still need to interact with one another to work. therefore they all are going to have some form of connection, and clearly, something to decide which "voice" gets precedence over the others. you control that, and then you can tune it. its the same w/ all those euro cars, they can be tuned, even though the new bmw's have some rediculous amount of computers (double didgits)
