Gas Mileage....better w/ or w/o tuner

My trucks an 05 F150 w/ 5.4 Reg cab 3.73 gears. My wife and I are taking it to Colorado (driving from Houston, TX tomorrow morning) and I was curious if I would get better gas mileage with my Xcal or without. If I use my Tuner I will have to use the tow (87 Octane/ Tryoer Tuned) program since I'll be pulling a trailer w/ three 4-wheelers. I've never figured my gas mileage with the tow program but it seems like it may get a little worse gas mileage. Anyone have experience with this?? Usually I wouldn't worry about it but thats a REALLY long drive!! THANKS in advance for the input guys!!

I have the Edge programer and I did a 3k mile trip with 4 people and a full bed in my screw. I got 17.8 mpg as a high and average about 15.5 - 16. Before the Edge I got a high of 15.5 in an empty truck.

Better...the biggest difference I noticed is that my MPG doesn't drop much at all if I drive very aggressively, where as stock tune if I used the gas pedal at all it dropped 1.5-2mpg in the blink of an eye.

the tuner allows me to enjoy the truck's power and not feel guilty. If you baby it expect to pick up a realistic 1 mpg minimum.

Troyer tuned here...

I stomp on it often stock and still get average of 17.5 mpg. I plan the tuner theory soon.
