You would be much better off to buy a stock GT and add those parts yourself. You could do it for much less than $4K. Besides that hood and front air damn are not that great IMO.

I have about made my mind up to get a Mustang instead of a Vette...but I can't decide what I want. I either want a Shelby GT500, a Shelby GT-H or may just get a loaded GT and super charge it and add the Shelby bumpers, hood and wheels. I am good friends with the president of Shelby Automobiles and she will hook me up with the parts. I would rather have the GT500 (she verified 650RWHP with a tune and pulley change) but the only thing is I know the GT-H will appreciate over time much more than the GT500. On the other hand I could build a GT and drive the crap out of (without guilt) for much less than either one would cost.

Here is a picture of some of the 500 GT-Hs being made:

Here are some pics of the Shelby CS6 (375HP V6 Mustang) with the hood, grille, front fascia, and wheels I was talking about putting on a GT.

Gt-H's are built to be rented by Hertz, hence the "H"

As for the Stangs, buy a GT, they have plenty of theem available now and do what you want to it. Less money and more individualized.

Its a Hertz rental car. Remember the Hertz Shelby GT-350s from 1966? They made 1000 of them and called them "rent a racers". Well they are doing it again this year...except they are only make 500 of them. All 500 are exactly a like...black and gold coupe with auto....welll except for one convertable my friend got (I am going to try my best to get her to make me a 5spd....the only 5spd built). They have a low geared rearend (they change the whole rear...not just the gears), CAI, exhaust and x pipe, and a very aggresive tune. They feel way stronger than a stock GT. It will be on the cover of Mustang Monthly next month...they were taking pics while we were there.

This is how they all start out:

Then they get their mods:

Then they are ready to ship to Hertz:

We got to play with the first two in this pic (the one on the far right is the proto-type they were detailing for the photo shoot):

LOL...I feel so sorry for you if thats what you think of when you see the name Shelby.

Here is one fairly famous Shelby...pre 80s Daytona. I think they call it "Eleanor".

And another car Shelby is kind of associated with....the Shelby Cobra

Shelby is a car guy. I'm sure if chevy had given him the chance He would have hot roded them as well, no the true Shelby's were the GT 350 500 Cobra daytona, ect, Once Shelby was finished with Ford I think he sued Ford when Ford Put the cobra decal on the mustang twos.
As for the new shelby's thier a dam fine nice looking and performing ride, just the logo reminds me of the shelby turbo colt and Dodge Daytona, The legend lives..

Well speaking of chevy...well at least GM. He did use a supercharged Northstar Olds Aurora motor in the Series 1. It was the fast production car ever made at the time (1999).

Also on of the main reasons Carrol Shelby went to Chrysler was Lee Iacocca...he had been associated with him during develop of the Mustang, and when Iacocca went to head Chrysler he asked Shelby to help him develop some performance cars. The Viper was a direct result.

The Shelby GT 500 is nice, but weighs about 500lbs too much. They are only getting high 12's in the 1/4 mile with them. This is pretty sad for a 500 hp (at the crank) engine. The 03-04 Cobras were putting up the same numbers with 110 fewer ponies.
Personally I like the look of the Saleens much better than the shelby.
If money was no object the 07 Saleen E (Extreme) is the ultimate Mustang ever built!
