True Flow CAI - is it for me?

I purchased the True Flow CAI system about a month ago and I am not sure that it is doing anything at all. I can't tell any difference in acceleration or gas mileage. I unplugged the battery for an hour after it was installed just to make sure that the computer reset. I have a magnaflow SI/DO system so the truck sounds great but performance is not that much different than stock.

I have a '04 SCab 4.6 and I don't do any hauling. I rarely go over 2k RPM. My buddy told me to go for AF1 or K&N since all I am looking for is improved mileage and better acceleration for those short bursts when passing or getting on the freeway. He said True Flow is bad at low RPM and it mostly just keeps the engine cleaner than the other brands. Is he just blowing smoke or is he legit? Does anyone have any opinions or advice?

Get a programer and that should enhance the air intake and exhaust while saving you fuel. As for air intakes im not sure about yours since im not familiar with it.

I don't know much about programmers. What do they usually cost? Is there one in particular that might be good for me?

i dont know much about intakes.....but from what ive heard peolpe say, read, and from my friends that have em, everyone seems to love the Volant CAI. And the most used programmer around for us is the Edge Evo. Alot of people also have the XCAL2 custom tuned by Troyer Performance. Its about 50/50 on those from what ive read.....more personal preference

I have the edge and I paid $329 to my door. Once you get it you will love it.
