leveling my truck
leveling my truck
I was thinking about lifting my truck but changed my mind.
Now I just want it to look level. If I choose to lower the back as aposed to lifting the front. Will I loose any hauling and towing capacity?? I dont want to "lower" my truck. I just want the rear to ride level with the front.
Aslo, Which is "easier" on the truck. rasing the front or lowering the rear to get the level look. I still plan to use my truck like a truck. I just want it to look nice in the process.

Is your truck a 4x4? If so you could remove the 2 inch rear blocks and that should get you pretty darn level but still allowing you to use your truck like a truck. Or drop shackles if you have a 4x2.
Unlike raising or lowering the front you will not need to mess with an alignment and and messing with your coils and all that fun stuff.
There are plenty of trucks that have gone both routes so do a search and you should get some good info and see pics as well.
Good luck.

I installed the 2" drop shackles on my new 2 wheel drive 06 and will be taking them off. I towed my 24' fifth wheel a couple weeks ago and about got beat to death by the bumper stops. I am very disappointed as I didn't think it would make that much difference. I like the level look but since its a 2wd and I plan on staying with the stock tire size I don't want to raise the front and have huge wheelwell gaps. I guess I just have to get used to the stinkbug look.
I've got drop shackles on mine set to 1-1/2", and overall I don't think I lost any payload or towing capacity, at least not enough to write home about.
One thing you will want to consider though, is if you're towing a trailer that has landing gear that sits kinda low. On a steep incline, more than likely your landing gear will get hung on the ground. Not fun.

Thats my other option I am lookin at now. Any suggestions on an affordable package, I don't need a pump or anything just the bags and brackets. I also may run into a problem with mounting bags though as I used the custom fit no drill fifth wheel rail mounting kit from e-trailer and it covers a large portion of the frame rail.
