Buying Nav: Buy from Shop or Buy Online?

Hey Guys,

So I'm pretty darn sure I'm going to get the Pioneer Z1 unit. Thing is, who should I buy from?

I can do one of two things:

1. Buy from online wholesaler and the price will be $1,600
I'm not sure what the warranty would be, if any.

2. Buy and have it installed at a shop and the price will be $2,500
If I do this option they'll warranty everything for 3 years.

Which one should I do? I could save about a $1,000 to just buy it online and install it myself. I'm not worried about the difficulty of the install because enough people on here have done it themselves and could help me if needed.

Looking for some rationale here boys.

Duke

The only warranty you will get buying online is "inhouse". Some sellers offer like 90 day or even 1 year thru them. I have never heard of anyone having to use it so, I do not know how it would be if you ever had to return it for repair. I am sure some are better than others about taking care of it. Personally, I would save the $1,000 and take the chance. Unless you get a lemon, most units will never have a problem.

Even if something goes wrong and you have to pay to have it fixed I doubt it will be more then 1k. Online is the way.

Awesome Duke!

Turns out I could only get the z1 and xm stuff.

I'm hunting for the rest online and at stores because it's back ordered where I initially bought.

I remember someone saying you could get the ipod controls for 60. I can't seem to find that price anywhere. Can someone help?
