Too bad the world isn't full of professionals. .
This is just a little rant, sorry guys but Im just making sure Im not the only sane person left. Okay, so about a week ago I go and get my windows tinted. Sure, everything looked pretty good but than I noticed my passenger side window had a very wierd line starting in the tint and the drivers side window had a few little bubbles. The next day I pull into the tint shop just to let them know about the problems and to set-up an appointment to get it fixed. I make the appointment and go back yesterday to get it fixed. Guess what? No one wrote down the appointment or no one made the tint guy aware of my scheduled appointment so Im totally chit out of luck, only to make another appointment to get it fixed. Four trips for something that should of been one trip? Come on now. I paid the money, now fix my damn windows!! :lurk:
Today I was supposed to have my HomeLink mirror installed in my truck. The guy drives an hour to install the mirror at my office. Oops. The guy never looked to see what kind of vehicle he was going to be installing the new mirror in and he doesn't have the damn tool to install the mirror and he actually has to order it. The worst part was he not only didn't get a damn thing done but got my freaking truck dirty!! :lurk: Im sorry but there are a lot of really dumb people out there that should be done away with. . |
at least you can still drive it, I had a couple of "pros" paint my van and instal airbags. they ruined the entire vehicle. inside and out. had to junk it

That stinks.
#1 reason to do your own work. Old saying goes "If you want something done right, do it yourself" |
. . no kidding, you'd bet your ass though if I was able to tint a vehicle, it'd be done already!

Terrible Experience.

Thumper I thought you were in high school? Now you work at an office?

What exactly do you refer to as "your office"? When I was 17 I never worked for more than $10/hr and I certainly wouldn't refer to it as my office... bunch of menial jobs.
|
I refer to my office as the real estate office, in which I work for. Why does it matter where I work or what pays the bills? Just curious. :coffee:
This thread wasn't about what kind of job you had when you were my age nor what I do for a living currently. :) |

Thumper, I had the same experience with my '06 passenger window...I was told by the installer that the Ford glass on that side has a bit of a "valley" on the inside...he said he knew about it, but totally forgot during the installation. His fix, put the tint on the outside of the glass and use a heat gun on that narrow strip down the middle, after that slap it back on the inside and all is well. Of course I didn't have to go thru all the other stuff your dealer put you thru..

Im not so sure thats my case with my window as the passenger side tint is already peeling from the bottom left hand corner. Im almost convinced its some bad tint that they used on the front windows. The other thing is that the line grew as a few days went by and now finally stopped getting any bigger. Its pretty wierd, its a horizontal line about 1/4 way up the window and it branches up vertically.
I hope this isn't just a 2006 thing because my 2004 didn't have one bit of problem. |
Hey thump, I had a woman do my SolarGuard tint (not my choice). Not only is SolarGuard the thickest tint I've ever seen, it scratches easily. She scratched it putting it in first of all, and now my windows roll up and down at a snails pace due to the thickness. I know 3m is supposed to be thin, wish I went with that.
About the age thing, I myself am 18 as well, I don't see why he should hide it (they're giving you plenty of reason to want to). There are quite a few of us around that age on here. Just know it could be worse, been to a Chevy forum? I'm just happy he used his money to buy a Ford, and is on a forum like this learning everything he can about it. Spoiled chits who know nothing about the truck they drive are in abundance around here, they're just sitting on products of Les Schwabb. |
Hey thump, what % tint did you go with??
|
5% on the front windows and 00% on the back three windows! :rocker:
