I don't know of any "new" SCT tuners on the horison.

Yes what I mean is that it will have the console display like the edge has. Showing all your trucks data etc.
This word came from a very inside source. It sounds like it will still have quite a while before its released.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the "intake" part in that picture. It just looks like a bigass conical K&N stuck in front of the throttle body. Any other pictures of it? Maybe off the truck so we can see what all you get with the kit?
You use power at speed not idle.
Detailed pics are up on the web site.

Also, keep in mind, I have never seen a dyno sheet "proving" the gains others claim. We dyno test and show all data, not just make claims.
We learned from the Mustang community that customers test products and love to call BS on parts that do not work. So we test and test and show the results. I think many companies know "truck guys" don't go to the dyno or track and feel they can throw any # out there and it will sell.
Someone said the Edge makes huge power without a intake... Where's the graph?
Ask for proof of the claimed gains!
We wanted to go for a totally differant look and it works great. The intake is actually the MAF housing it self and is 89mm or 3.5". This size can support well over 600 RWHP as proven on the 03-04 Cobras.
Also note, in the Jan. issue of 5.0 magizine, we are very proud to say, JLT was the top HP and TQ producer of 11 CAI kits tested on the 05 GT. This MAF housing is the same piece as we use on the GT.
Believe me I understand the thinking and skepticism, we've been through it. Just nose around any Mustang forum (SVTperformance.com, Modularfords.com,SVTsnake.com and so onO and you'll read of 1000's of happy JLT owners. The truck market is new to us, but were using the same thought that worked on the Mustangs.
Thanks
Jay

Take it from me,,,Jay makes an awesome Intake that makes great power. I have run his intake from day 1 on my '03 Cobra,,,you can trust that this intake will make the power that he claims.
That being said, I would love to run the RAI on my F150 but I am getting the Edge tuner and don't know if they will be compatible. I have the cobra for my HP addiction and therefore didn't feel the need to go Xcal2 and custom tune on my truck.
BTW, here is an engine shot of my cobra with the JLT RAI.

I too have experience using Jays products on my 03 cobra and I think he makes a great product. Im pretty happy with the airaid Ive got on my f150 right now, but with those big of gains Im very tempted to switch.... My concern would be- How does it sound? Major drone?

This was with only the edge and the snorkel pulled off.
I would have expected you to know and research about other competetive products before slamming someone. I do like your product, BTW just not the way you presented your case.

No need to get defencive here.
There's tons of products that do the same thing, compitition is good for us all.The goal on any tune is to get the A/F in the optimume spot, about 11.8-12.8 on a N/A truck. Not too sure how they got those #'s with "only" a tune, but more power to them.
Has anyone "other" then Edge dyno tested this? That's the real question.
Again, I'm not slaming them, just trying to get all the info out there.
Jay
BTW, there stock HP and TQ readings are VERY low for a stock 5.4 3V.... Don't ya think??
Flywheel 300 HP from factory - 20% drive train lose = 240 RWHP. We saw between 235 and 248 RWHP on all our stock runs. Which is right on the mark.
Edge #'s in stock trim are 180 RWHP... That's about 60 HP off from what it should be. I'd be looking into that more if I were going to put much faith in it.
What I'm trying to say is we need to watch out for these things. Look at all the #'s, not just the gap in the lines.
Just trying to help, not bash.

JAy, if you do a search around this forum, most of the stock f150s are running anywhere from 210 - 225 hp. I think that has been well documented here. havent seen or heard of anyone dynoing 240+ stock (maybe fatherford). You also have to remember Edge is located in high elevation (Utah) so you would expect their hp/tq numbers to be lower than average.
I think there have been a few Edge dyno runs by owners here. 250+ hp/ 325+ tq is what i recall seeing here.
By all means, we want real numbers when we buy parts. Thanks for bringing new stuff for our trucks!

Tucker, have the same truck as yourself. Your numbers have surpassed mine with merely and intake and tune. I have deleted my 2 rear cats, Flowmaster Single Chamber SIDO exhaust, Air Force One intake, ASP Underdrive Pullies, Custom Tuned XCal2 by Troyer (which I feel was a little overrated), Dual 16" Derale Electric Fans. I'm probably forgetting something but when I did my last dyno run I only pulled 268hp and 330tq or so with most of these mods (no pullies and with all 4 cats). I'd like to see your pickup run with mine.

Dynos are all differant and give differant #'s from day to day depending on conditions.
Some dynos read low (Mustang for example), but not 60 HP low on a 225 RWHP vehicle. That's just too far off for me. They use a Superflow dyno which do tend to read lower then the normal Dynojet, but, again, not 25% low.
Altitude included.My truck pulled
249.6 RWHP (early design JLT that I scrapped. same old tube, elbow and box design)
269.7 RWHP (this JLT and a custom tune by locals DTP Racing)
271.4 RWHP (This JLT and the SCT custom tune)
all on the same dyno, but differant days. Also, we learn eveytime to make better adjustment to the tune here and there.
Your #'s are right on.
Elec fans & pullies may be worth some, but given the rest were about the same mods, just differant size intake and differant tuner and that means a ton. Also throw in differant dynos and parts of the country and I think your on par. Also, don't forget your running 37" tires. This can KILL dyno #'s. More rotating mass.
Again, as I said and most will back up. You can expect 20% in HP lose through the drive train. So the Flywheel 300 HP from factory - 20% drive train lose = 240 RWHP. It's simple math, not me trying to make someone look bad.

Looks like im going to be the one to experiment with this one. I have had the Airaid and Af1 and didnt like either. Maybe ill like this one! I was looking to get rid of my 1714 anyways and get a XCAL2.
Ill let you all know what I think of it either way. Promise!
