My new tires don't fit
I picked my 325/60/R18 ProComp Extreme A/T tires up from the delivery company today instead of waiting for them to drop the tires at my house tomorrow. After rushing to NTB (went there since they close at 8) we found out they rub on the upper control arm. I need a little less than an inch of additional clearance...would you guys recommend spacers? I know getting new rims would be the way to go, but I don't want to spend the extra money. :help:

Sorry I can't help you out but I noticed you are in Waco.

If they arnt that bad then you can cut the wheel well a little. but if you dont want to do that then you could buy spacers. they are not too expensive.

Autospring 1.5"-2.5". I would stick with the 2", you can find them on ebay. Easy install also.

I have the Autospring 2" installed on the truck. I have plenty of room inside the fenderwell, just don't have any between the wheel and the Upper Control Arm...they hit even when the wheel isn't turned. |

I refuse to use spacers, and right now I cannot afford new rims. Even if I could afford them I have no clue what backspacing to get, what size I want or what style I like enough to dump that much money on! |

Does anyone know what backspacing the stock rims have?
|
Stock rims have 5 1/2 in backspacing.
I have 13.50 iroks on stock 20" rims that have over 6" of backspacing... and the tires are wide for 13.50 because they have big side lugs. They are super close to the upper a arm ball joint... But they dont hit. Maybe it is because the tire doesnt have as much bulge on a 20" rim. And the stock 20" rim is an inch wider than the stock 18"... Wait... so how has anyone ever fit this size on a stock rim? or have they? -stephen |
