EDGE or Gears first 4.56's or 4.88's

I will be adding a 3'' body along with 37's or 38's as soon as my current 35's wear down. I think it is about time to start with some performance mods, but my concern is that my tranny is under stress right now because of the 35's. I think that if I add the edge right now that would not be a good idea. What do yall think?? I'm thinking I should re-gear first, and then get the edge.. I am waiting to do the exhaust untill afther the body lift is on, so that I can have it custom bent so it will not hang down like the other trucks that have a 3" BL..

Adding an EDGE at any time would be advantageous if for anything to correct your speedometer. When you regear it is going to be hella off. If you can afford a 3 inch body lift and 38's it seems like you would be able to afford gears and an EGDE as well.

Just my 2 cents.

Well I won't speculate what you can afford because I know how that is. I think you should first try the Edge, you can always sell it for just a little cheaper than you bought it for (will probably lose $20 tops, they sell very well), unlike the XCal2. I'm sure that will suffice for a while, I'm on heavy arse 37's and I'm happy with my mods, I don't feel like I'm stressing it too much. Although I never use 4 high anymore (won't spin these tires for nothing in the dirt/mud, etc). 4Low does plenty though. Anyways, I'm worried about my mileage if I regear, I can't take anymore hits on my mileage, anywhere. I don't care to compensate for either highway nor in town, I do both equally (so it seems). Anyways, I sure hope my speedometer and everything are way off because I'm showing 7-8mpg in the city now, highway is around 16-17 or so. What a bummer.

Your mileage seems like it sucks that bad because you have huge ass 37's. Your speedomoter has got to be off by at least 5-7 mph.

5-7mph.. try 7-10mph.. It depends on your speed but.. The faster you go the larger the error is in your speedo.. its a % of error not a fixed number..
