9000X or 5150

I am getting new shocks for the rear of my truck which one do you guys recomend the Rancho 9000x or the bilstein 5150 crossflow rezzy shock? I am really having a hard time deciding, I like the rezzy but then again everyone says how good Rancho is, someone please help. BTW I am going with 9000xxx in the front but I am not worried about having the same brand all the way around. I am going with the 9000xxx for the lift if there is a better front option let me know also. thx

I had the Ranchos on my 86 toyota 4x4 and my 80 chebby blazer 4x4 and loved them, absolutely no problems at all and the ride was nice on and off road. I can't speak for the bilsteins as I've never had or ridden with them but the Ranchos are excellent. Good luck

I have the 9000s and you can really tell the difference in the adjustments. From lincoln town car to shake your teeth loose.

Allright since the bilsteins are out, what about FOX Shox or 9000X. I like that they are rebuildable and that they arnt what all FX4's come with rancho's, so noone could tell they are an upgrade. Dont hate but yes I am somewhat about looks. For a long time I wanted to go a full lift but 1 I am in college and not really in my budget and 2 parking at school if it was lifted I would have to park FAR away, so with the lift out I want to do some really nice shocks to please myself

I have the Rachos too... LOVE THEM... the ride is way way way better.
SO way better than those sucky stock ones. Get them and you'll love them.

What do you mean by "better"? How exactly do they differ from the stock shocks? Do you have all four, the rear, or the front?

Well you said the Bilsteins are out, but I vote for them.

I've had the 9000's on a lifted truck before and had stock Bilsteins on my Level II FX4 Ranger... no experience w/ the reservoir, but that's what I'd try if it was me.

I have the Ranchos just for the rear. I think the stock front are riding fine.
I got the ones that come with the rancho 4 inch kit because I have a skyjacker add a leaf too. I consulted rancho about it and they claimed it was an ideal match.

"Better" These shocks keep the bumps and bed hop to almost nothing. Plus you can adjust the level of firmness and softness in the ride. You truly will note the difference in the shocks here. There is a notiable difference in handling too... seems like a more controlled ride. No more bob when I stop quicky.

I have enjoyed them and if I had to do it again, I would.

O man so many oppinions! which ones should I get Good reviews on the ranchos but I do want something that stands out a little more, everyone has ranchos and people that dont know trucks just think those are stock shocks. Bilsteins look nice but no one with exprience, and then there is the fox shox, expensive but bada$$

Come on... you know that reservoir mounted somewhere in the wheel well in plain sight will look bad ***. Plus, Bilstein has an excellent reputation for shocks. I don't think they'll let you down. How much are they anyways?

The bilstein arnt remote mount they are piggy back rezzys and they are only 100 a piece. I was even thinking of getting the fox and then later adding a rezzy does anyone know if it is possiable to add the rezzy later since it has a shrader valve??
