Krohbar,

I am originaly from Norfolk, NE! How is Omaha??? I tried to change the oil for the first time tonight and could not get the filter to move!!!!! I tried everything I could think of and ended up just putting new oil back in. Do you guys think it would hurt it to run another 1500 miles?? It currently has 1500 miles on it. If you think it would hurt it then I will try and get it changed somewhere!! I will try and take more pics this weekend if it doesn't rain!!

Thanks

Ford really twists those oil filters on tight at the factory. I remember hearing the mechanic cuss as he tried to loosen it (for the first oil change). You'll need alot of torque to loosen it.

Congrats on the purchase.

NICE TRUCK! Those 20's and solid white with the longer bed really fill that thing out well. As for the filter.....there are many horror stories on here about that. The first oil change is a bitch to say the least. The trick is to get one of the filter wrenches that has about 4 spring loaded "claws" that are fairly thick that will actually bite into the filter harder the more you turn. That is how I got mine off. After that is it a piece of cake. Good luck!

EDIT: here is a picture of a random filter wrench so you can get an idea of what you are looking for

Thanks for the help mat05'FX4!! I made an appointment with the dealer this afternoon to change the oil. I figure let them mess with it this time and if they break something they are responsible! I will be out $39.99 for 5W20 Semisythetic , but cheaper then having an engine problem!
