In the Shop for tranny problems

Well, just a little over 9,000 miles and it has happened....Trans Fault came on in the message center, as well as the blinking O/D light. They pulled the transmission pan, and it was everywhere......Metal Shavings! Ill know a little bit more tomorrow afternoon, and ill post an update!

Well, a new transmission is on the way! Will be here Thursday, and will be installed on Friday! They were just gonna rebuild it, but the Ford Engineer said with as little amount of miles that the truck has on it, it would be better to just replace the whole unit! Bad valve body is what caused it!

Thats sucks, but at least your dealer worked WITH you instead of against you.

"We have concluded that the bad trans was due to low tire pressure and it will cost you $3000"

That sucks dude. Does it need another transmission or are you just having problems with the new one?

i bet it was the extra weight of the dvd player that caused it. it puts more stress on the tranny. if i were your dealer i would deny the warranty claim.

They probably didn't flush the lines and the cooler in the radiator, and/or didn't replace the OTA cooler. Metal left over in either spells a short service life for a replacement transmission.
