Question FX-4 Newbie, Mod ?'s, Shed a little light for me guys...

Hi all. Great website you guys have here. Very informative and tons of info. I am new to the world of blue ovals, having recently purchased a '06 F-150 FX-4 SuperCab 5.4L 6.5' box. So far it's been great... and WAAAAAYYYY better than the '01 Dakota I traded for it!
Anyway, reading the many threads here has promted several questions. Please help answer them and or offer any other advice you think I could use.
1. What is this "lean" condition i read about concerning some intake kits? Aren't they all pretty much the same?? If it happens for one looks to me like it should happen for all???
2. The Dry Flow (no oil) filter from AEM looks very appealing. Does anyone have any experience with AEM intakes on F-150's?? I have had K&N on everything else I have owned...
3. Should I disconnect the battery before every mod(intake, exhaust, etc) to let things reset? If so, how should I drive the truck to get the computer to "learn" to get the most from the mods?
4. Anyone familiar with DiABLOSport Predator programmers for F-150, 5.4L?? This is another item i have not seen mentioned on this site. Opinions, suggestions??? Are they any good?
THANKS GUYS!! This should get me started. I am sure to be back with other questions in the coming weeks.

Welcome and congrats on the new truck

I have a Volant intake and so far no problems. The newer intake's I guess have been redesigned to eliminate that.

I would disconnect the battery to reset things. It helped me.

1. Most all of the intakes fixed their issues with the lean condition. Did AF1 ever fix theirs? Im not sure, someone else will be able to chime in that knows for sure.

2. I have no idea about the AEM. I've seen it and it looks just like every other intake out there.

3. Disconnecting the battery is going to clear your trucks memory so you can either disconnect the battery or just re-load your tune on your programmer and it'll do the same thing but keep all of your radio presets.

4. Asinatra had a DiabloSport and he liked it but sadly he was banned from the website. I'd check out the Edge and the Xcal 2 from Bama.

Welcome and I hope you have a lot of credit cards!

I have the Airaid intake and no problems yet(knock on wood), and I would disconnect the battery before doing any mod. Just a personal prefrence. Congrats on getting rid of the Dodge for a real truck.

Minor thread drift...

His account doesnt show banned or suspended. Maybe he got a temporary one and just decided not to come back....
