Fabtech Steering Stabilizer
Fabtech Steering Stabilizer
I finally got around to installing it today. It was a VERY simple install, as many of you know I have the Rancho lift and everything went smoothly. The only problem(s) I had were due to the member I had bought the kit from. First, he didn't include one of the frame brackets and I didn't even notice it until today but he didn't send 3 packages of shock bushings. I ran around to almost 5 shops looking for the damn pieces but I got it another $15 later. So, anyone wondering about this kit for your Rancho lift, it works.
PS: I have 18x9 wheels with 5.5" of backspacing and it still works!

Well I believe my problem is in my rack and pinion and always has been, something that Im not going to replace and either is Ford apparently. It'd be the only explaination because my alignment is perfect, better than factory and my balance on these tires is spot on. I've always had a steering wheel nibble.

Save that picture of your stabilizers because they look nice there and before long they will be rusted like mine. I took the truck off the road for the winter and this spring the shocks were all rust...(cheap paint). Even the rod is rusted and the truck never even went on the road. The same goes for the rear shocks. I have to get some paint and sand paper to get mine looking good again. I have the d. logic coming for the rear to match the front and I hope there better....Good luck.

That could be a problem. Check where your rack and pinion mount to the frame and see what kind of shape the bushings are in. On my old tacoma with R&P steering the bushings were shot after some abuse from me. I had it replaced under warranty and then I replaced the bushings with poly ones and no more problems. Why won't ford warranty. Are they saying that it is lift related.
