I'm thinking about going with the blacked out look on my truck. It kinda just struck me this weekend.

The changes would be:

1. Black rims instead of my chrome rims (will sell them)...not sure which ones yet.
2. Black Nfab steps & pre-runner light bar and no brushed aluminum OEM steps (will sell them also).
3. Black billet grille instead of my polished one.
4. HD black head & tails lights.
5. Keep the black fender flares and sell my PTM Lariat flares.

EDIT: 6. I would also get a carbon fibre/black "FX4" sticker (to match my CF oval badge on the tailgate) or, just remove it all together.

How would this look on my Silver Metallic SCrew?

 

I like the idea! I say go for it! I think it would look awesome! I'm thinking that I'll go with black wheels when I buy some!

Just kidding bro... actually my friend has a set up similar to what your describing except he has the polished grill and chrome rims still. The silver trucks look really good with the black nerf and bull bars with the black fender flares IMO. I think the black rims may be a little much but if you went with a rim that didn't have a whole lot of stuff going on with it, it wouldn't look too bad. Either way though I would definitely go with the nerf and bull bars. Good luck!

I didn't think about that! LOL I'm definately not a Raiders fan and I sure won't take the truck to a Chargers game! LOL

 

I know how you feel, I'm definitely not a Raiders fan but my truck is silver with the black Roush rocker panel stripe so I kind of get the look from the gangsters that drive by in their lowriders with their humongous Raiders stickers covering their rear windows

 

When you see them...just smile and wave and hopefully they will levae you alone. LOL

 

Are raider fans really as obnoxious as people say? Anecdotes would be appreciated.

Yes Raider fans are horrible as anyone from California can atest too. Sports Illustrated did a thing a year or two ago where they rate NFL fans. Raiders fans were found to be the most ignorant. Go to a Raiders game or watch it on TV and just look at the scumbags. And by no means am I classifying all Raiders fans as dirtbags (my best friend is a Raiders fan) but come on look at em.

 

There's always fights, stabbings, etc., when they play the Chargers down here. SDPD beefs up at the game and the Media starts covering the potential madness weeks before the game. It can get crazy and ALOT of people I know wont go to that game. Plus, you cant just buy Charger/Raider tickets for that one game...they make you buy tickets for 3-4 other games to get the Raider game tickets. Charger & Raiders are BIG rivals.

 

Personally I think trucks with black rims lack the "clean look". And I don't just mean because it looks like brake dust is covered on the wheels.
But to each his own.

 

We do things a littile diffrent in cali ...like that gold stuf on the side of your truck would be a big no go..But to each his own

 

I kinda agree with HardcoreHehaw. I think black looks good on some trucks but im not sure it would look good on your silver truck. I like it the way it is. I wouldnt change it

 

The more and more I think about it....I'm now thinking about adding glass fenders too! LOL

 

I have always liked the blacked out look on anything! I want to black out my black F150, I go extreme!!
