Climate Control System & Other Probs

Hi,

I have a 2005 F150 Supercrew Lariat and have developed my first set of problems beginning Tuesday morning.

Everything was fine Monday but on Tuesday morning on my way to work my climate control system would not come on, and I could hear a faint humming sound coming from the passenger side kick panel area. On Tuesday afternoon coming home still no climate control system and now the humming noise has gotten much louder. I have checked all fuses, relays, etc. that are related to the CC system but they all look good. It stayed the same today, and the humming noise is coming from the fuse panel area.

It is scheduled to go to the Ford dealer tomorrow but if I can keep from taking it to the dealer then I would rather not.

Truck is bone stock with 5300 easy miles.

Anyone have any ideas? Help please!

just the other day mine shut off and "flashed" back on after a moment, and then the vents cycled through all settings from floor to defrost. That is the only thing mine has done. did yours ever show symptoms before this?

Do you have the manual or EATC climate control?

What exactly do you mean by "it won't come on"?

Most likely your blower motor is bad. It's located in the area kind of behind the glove box so if it were making some noise it would sound like it was coming from the passenger kick panel.

It does have the electronic climate control system. No problems or symptoms prior to when it went bad.

When I said "it won't come on" I meant that there was no power whatsoever to the CC unit.

I've had the same problem twice, try this though. Just remove the center dash piece and unplug all of the connectors for the EATC. Wait about a minute and plug them all in, of course doing so when the vehicle is off. This should reset the EATC and you'll be set.
