Ride quality problem

I have recently had my tires balanced and every since my i feel every bump in the road. I dont know if it has something to do with what the tire com-pany did or not. This could be a stupid question but could they have put too much air in the tires to make them ride like crap or do you guys think it could be somehting else?

Buy new shocks... as the stock ones suck so badly. I never thought it was that big a difference until I got my new Ranchos. WOW!

The biggest differnce for me was getting new tires, BF Goodrich, and scrapping the stock general's, try that, or check the air pressure.

Crappy Tires?

I have the same issue with harsh bumpy ride, I feel every single bump.
Of course dealer says no problem found. My truck is the long beast model:
2004 SuperCab/Long box(8')/payload pkg/7-lug rims, 9K miles.
I thought it was just the stiff extra payload suspension,
but it feels bouncy even on flat new pavement.
After reading tire reviews on tirerack.com, I suspect the problem
is the crappy General Ameritrac tires(245/70-17),
which appear to be the only brand available in that size.
I guess I will have to cough up $400-500 for new tires to test my theory.

I would check the tire pressure. And going by your statement of "could they have put too much air in the tires" are you sure you weren't running too low of a pressure before? You should check your tire pressure about once a week.

If you went someplace like Jiffy Lube there is a good chance they put too much air in your tires. Check the sticker in the driver side door jam. You should have 32-35 psi in your tires when they are cold(depending on the weight you carry).

$89 something a peace and worth every bit.... The truck rides so much better now. Keep in mine I only did the back shocks with my lift.
The stockers had crapped out shortly after the first 10K.
