2005 F150 XLT Question

Performance Products:
1. Air-Raid Intake
2. Banks Exhaust
3. Hyper-Tech

Question:
What can I do to improve horsepower even more and does anybody make an aftermarket Throttle module yet? I am tired of the slow response of the stock drive-by-wire module.

Thanks;
Bill

I was looking at the Whipple Superchargers. Do they pretty much just bolt on or do I have to do engine mods.? Also, do I need to go with dual exhaust or can I keep the single BANKS exhaust?

Relax tiger. I don't know about you but I can't afford a supercharger. That's a pretty big jump, but more power to you if you can do it.

Do you plan on getting larger tires? If not go with a set of 4.10 gears for your next mod and if you want to get beefier rubber go with 4.56. Gears are going to make the biggest bang for buck performance difference, I have heard of people shaving off half a second off of their 1/4 mile times which is huge. Trust me, from what I hear you won't regret it. After that if you have 5 grand to blow then go with a supercharger. You are going to need gears regardless.

I switched from 3.55 to 4.1 gears and I am very happy with the results. As for other mods, all the "little" stuff like intake, exhaust, uplleys, efans, programmers, etc... from the sound of your ipression from what you have done so far, I wouldn't expect any of the other "typical" and relatively easy mods to tickle your fancy either.

Look into the supercharger option as it is likely the only real fix to your "problem."

Depending on your truck year/engine you may have several options, and most kits are "bolt-on" and take a half day to a full day with proper tools to install.

Thanks to all for the input. I never thought about gears. Who is the leader in gear sets right now? I would love to blow 5K on a supercharger but would settle for the gear thing for now. Summer is coming and I am spending my extra cash on street bike stuff.

Bill....

4.10's but I think it depends on what you want, i.e. low end power or high end. But I could be wrong!

My question is what brand of 4.10 gears work well with my truck and where do I get them?

I have heard from other members on the forum that with 33" they have had good success with 4.56 gears. I'd look into Yukon gears by the way.
