Installed Sylvania Xenarc X1010 HID Fogs
Well, with all the posts the past few days of people installing fog lights in their lower airdam - I figured it was my turn.
I broke down and ordered the Xenarc X1010 fog light setup after looking at the dimensions on and off for a month. I got them tonight and started to install them. Unfortunately, the supplied brackets by themselves do not make it to the steel above or below the lower opening of the bumper, I had to fabricate a bracket out of some angle. (I will snap pics tommorow). After building the brackets, I did a loose test fit to see how they would look. I still have some tweaking to do before I wire them (Including spraying the brackets flat black) tommorow. Here are some pics: https://www.f150online.com/galleries...589-151151.jpg https://www.f150online.com/galleries...589-151152.jpg https://www.f150online.com/galleries...589-151153.jpg https://www.f150online.com/galleries...589-151154.jpg I will have pics of the light output of both my McCulloch 6000k heads and the X1010's. I will do them each alone and then together. |
VERY clean setup. it looks awsome:thumbsup:

DANG! Someone beat me to this...
I've been brainstorming this idea ever since I had to let go of my 2010's when I traded my old KR in on this one. My Xenarcs are one thing that I miss the most about my old truck... EXCELLENT MOD!! I wish you wouldn't have snagged it from my head though! LOL! I really look forward to reading about how you have it wired up and installed... and the impressions that you have about them. Also, I'd be very interested in seeing your mounts... I've subscribed to this thread... can't wait to hear what you have to say about them. RP :D |
RP,
The brackets I made go to two stock holes in the frame - nothing too spectacular. As far as wiring them, if you remember your Xenarcs from the old truck - these are wired similar. The catch (not sure I like it yet) is that it has a wireless transmitter and a remote control in leu of a wired switch. SUV lights does have a harness for sale that will still tie directly into the battery, has fuses and a relay - so you can tie it into your stock fog circuit. Sorry I stole your idea. What I plan on doing is rotating the brackets the fogs came with, which will set them back further allowing me to install a carriage works lower grille. Right now I am just concentrating on getting them even on both sides. Sometimes is sucks being anal. lol |
I like them.

Out of the three recent setups I've seen like this, I like yours the best. They just look like they belong. Too bad I have a bumper grille in my 04.
