Dealership said it couldn't be done!
I was lucky enough that my keypad was plug and play. You will have to take your truck to the dealer and have them put the keypad program into the VSM.
Like I said before, there is a TSB out for INOP keypads so if you do some swindling, you may get it done for free.
From the tech specs that I have read, it is pretty easy to do if the dealer is willing to do it for you. Who knows, throw on the new handle and keypad, take it to a Ford dealer and complain that it doesn't work, they may hook the truck up right then and there and poof, it works. I am not sure if they would do research to find out if you truck was equipped with the keypad from the factory, but it can't hurt to try.

str8ace, send me an email and I will reply to it tomorrow with directions on how to activate it so that you can take it to the dealer. I have a disk (one of those Ebay Tech DVD's) that has the TSB on it and it tells the dealer exactly what to do so I would think they could follow it for you truck as well.
EDIT: Here you go so others can have it as well. PS. Moderators sorry this will be long.
FORD: 2004-2005 F-150
ISSUE:
Some 2004-2005 F-150 vehicles built through 2/7/2005, may exhibit an inoperative keyless entry keypad. This may be due to the vehicle security module (VSM) not being configured to accept keyless entry keypad input.
ACTION:
Reprogram the VSM using the As Built Data in this TSB. Refer to the following Service Procedure to access and re-configure the VSM using WDS, NGS+ or NGS Classic.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
WDS PROCEDURE
Close any existing sessions on WDS.
Disable the VSM by removing fuse F2.107, or by disconnecting VSM connector.
Start a new WDS session, (select 16 Pin > all except those below, etc.).
Allow WDS to identify the vehicle, perform VIN confirmation and RO screens by pressing check mark button, (VSM will fail network test because it is disabled).
Select Toolbox tab, pick Module Programming, Programmable Module Installation > VSM.
Follow WDS prompts to cycle the key OFF, press check mark button.
When "INSTALL A NEW MODULE IN VEHICLE" appears, reconnect VSM module or reinstall fuse F2.107.
Follow prompt to cycle key ON, press check mark.
When the explanation screen indicates As Built data will need to be entered, press check mark.
Enter the appropriate As Built data when prompted. After entering C1-01 data from As built press the check mark. WDS will then prompt for C1-02 data, enter 6010 0000 0033 for Regular and Super Cab, or enter 2010 0000 00F3 for SuperCrew, then press the check mark. After entering the C1-03 data from As built press the check mark. At this point, WDS should indicate whether the programming was successful. If unsuccessful verify good connection at DLC, good power and ground to VSM, self-test VSM, re-boot WDS and reattempt the procedure.
NGS CLASSIC OR NGS+ PROCEDURE
NOTE: NGS CLASSIC USERS START AT STEP 2 WITH LATEST LEVEL GREEN SERVICE CARD. NGS+ USERS START AT STEP 1.

THANK YOU cddavis!!!!
I am one of those that has been around and around with every dealership within 90 miles of here about how to program the keyless entry. Every time I would get a blank stare and be told it couldn't be done. One of them even made my wife cry (she wanted to get me LT handles for Christmas). Now with this maybe I can at least get a dealership to try.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones to find a dealership where the tech
was patient with the problem of getting the keypad working. He tried several
things then got on the "hotline" and was able to get the codes as mentioned
in the earlier post.
Make a note of these codes, because if the VSM ever needs replaced and the the old codes can't be uploaded from the old module, they can't just load "As Built" data. The as built data will return the keypad to nonfunctioning.

I actually have two myself. Allen performance makes a 5.4 Roots style supercharger. Does this fit the 5.4 3v block or the just the 5.4 SOHC? Besides the addition of the 3 valve system, is the block still the same? What makes the old 5.4 diffrent from the new.
2nd, Why did ford decide to adjust the suspension in a way that the new 2004 and up F150's arent level? What is the purpose?
Just picking your brain on these subjects since you said you were the expert.

As far as I know, the blocks are the same on the old 2V 5.4L and the new 3V 5.4L, other than the addition of three things. One, being the 3 valve head assembly, two being charge motion control valves, and the third being the variable cam timing.
I suppose maybe the blower could be made to work. Who knows?
As for you fordworker, go **** yourself. I know more than any salesman you know. Thank you drive through.

So I just finished the installation, it took just over an hour, thanks to everyone who posted all the good information!
I wasnt lucky enough to have it work right away, so i'll be going to the dealer tomorrow. My keypad does not light up though, as some one else stated. Should it?
Also does anyone have a picture of how the wireloom thing for the wires are supposed to connect? I.e. what holes do you plug the Christmas tree looking thing into?
Thanks again for everyone's help!

It's wrong, IMO to generalize and say ALL salespeople don't know what they're talking about. I challenge anyone here to ask me a product-knowledge related question regarding any of the above mentioned vehicles that you think I can't answer. Thank you, drive thru...

I'm a salesperson, but I didn't know you could do that. I've learned alot just from this site. Where do you sell? I'm in MI. Is the plug already in the door? If so I'm gonna put the LT door handles and order the Keyless pad. <2006 XLT with Keyless>.
