Heated Mirrors on XL or Stx?

I am planning on buying factory power mirrors, I have read some of the write ups on how to do that, but what I wanted to know is if anybody has put in heated signal mirrors on their XL or Stx, and if so what needs to be done. The turn signals shouldn't be too bad, but I was wondering how the heated mirrors would hook up because I don't have rear defrost? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did the power mirrors but didn't want to tackle the signals or heat without the plugs, switches, or harnesses.

I would think that adding the heated mirrors would be easiest if you just put them on a timed manual switch. Say a ten minute timer. I would probably nab an underseat heating module out of something with a ten minute timer, and then run the wires. Touch a switch and ten minutes of heat. Or you could just wire it direct with an illuminated switch. The light up switch would remind you to shut the heat off when you didn't need it.

Or just find the wire to the defroster output in the heater switch and run a tap off it.
Doesn't seem like a lot of work.
I didn't bother with heated mirrors when I did my XLT to STX mirror swap because I live in a warm climate, and the truck is always parked in the garage anyway.

That kit (which is pretty cool) is for non heated mirrors to be converted to heated mirrors. If you already had heated mirrors you would only need some wire and a switch to duplicate that.
Of course if you have base XLT mirrors that would 'heat them' pretty fast. But it would be cheaper to sell the XLT mirrors for 80-100 bucks, and buy heated on e-bay for 100-125. Then add a two buck switch.

Don't know if I was reading the kit right or not, but you have to buy their aftermarket mirror w/ heat, then buy the "h-mod" kit to use the heat if your truck came w/o heat? (I thought maybe you could use the kit on factory mirrors)
This One
I still have the manual mirrors on my truck, I'm planning on buying power mirrors, and found some factory signal mirrors, so I figured I'd find out what would be involved in hooking them up. If I do go this way, I will probably wire something up myself.

I have watched hundreds of mirror sets go on e-bay, heated, turn signal, from the new model, for usually 120-130 bucks. That add is way high. If you put any of the heated stocker mirrors on your truck just put in a simple on-off illuminated switch and a good power connection. I think you could do the whole job, switch for mirrors, switch for power, for way under 200 bucks if you were in a hurry. And for about 140 if you have plenty of time.
Best of luck,
Chris

Thank you for your help, and I've got some time (waiting for it to be warm).
