Lol, used it on my Mustang and it worked good but wont use it on my truck. If you use it prep is very important. I used a wire brush on a drill to get all the brake dust off (wear a mask) then paint.

Powdercoating is the better alternative, even if you just go with black. That will rust-proof your calipers for a very long time.

I like painted calipers. I don't think it looks like rice or anything. every caliper on every car or truck has that brown old ugly surface rust, so why not paint them to look nicer then seeing surface rust?

even if you just paint them black, its far better then seeing rust, I wouldn't paint them no bright yellow or bright green or anything, just make them look nice

How about to preserve my unblemished record of staunch heterosexuality?

I guess the follow up post will be on how to install one of those angry bee muffler tips. Do they make any "Type R" badges for our trucks? Has anyone put a Neuspeed window sticker in their front windshield? Is there any way to attach a rear spoiler to our tailgate? Oooh, and where do I get some neon tube lighting for the underside of my truck?!

I agree with davidlem. Professional powder coating will look more OEM and much better looking than using Autozone caliper paint in a spray can. That stuff belongs on ten year old civics with RPG's for an exhaust.

I painted my calipers black when i first got the truck. Great mod that pretty much cleans things up.

I should add that I also painted my calipers black last summer. I just hated seeing rust looking through the wheels.

Like the guy above me said, it cleans it up a lot.

Sad thing is, I've actually seen all of those on our trucks.

I would probably paint them though. Not an outragous colour, just something cleaner than rust.

I wouldn't say it has to be attached to the tailgate :P

I did mine last spring...and will be doing them again in a few weeks...this year im gonna try and find a better blue which actually matches my Fabtech coil overs...i was very happy with my results...i didnt use G2....i got high heat engine enamel, wiped down the calipers and lightly sanded them...and them sprayed them with 4 coats each...they looked great for the summer, but as i said after the winter they need to be thoroughly cleaned and redone, and i would like to do a darker blue color
