Not to beat the dead horse... but is 11.2mpg with a 4.6 correct?

Hey guys, I know we talk about this daily, but I have gone through the first two tanks on my 04 F150 I just bought, and my mpg is 11.2 and has been pretty much both times...
I have a 3.55 in it and it is mostly city with a daily ten minute run across the highway..
And the thing is, Im easy on the throttle, dont drive hard, try to drive as even as possible... but still 11.2
If that is all Im going to get, I can live with it, I know it isn't a Honda or something, but I was expecting more like 15 instead of 11.
I think Im going to mash the peddle this tank and see how it is... way more fun to drive that way and I can't imagine it being too much worse than 11mpg...

that seems REALLY low I have 4.6 with a leveling kit, glass pack exhaust, and 33" mudders. I am always on the pedal and I get a little under 11.
EDIT: I get a little under 250, how many miles do you have on your truck

I have 12,000 km (7,500 miles) on it...
I get 615km per tank... but how big are your tanks? Mine is like 130 litres or something (35+ gallons).
Im american and living in canada, I struggle with this metric stuff...

And i believe that ford puts a 10k cap on the truck that the PCM doesnt allow full motor hp production until after you "break it in" and cross the 10k mark, but i could be wrong on the 04+ models.

My '05 4.6
woke up at around 6000 miles.
Best I did was 21mpg doing a 45-55mph run on flat ground, on a 3-hour ride.
Usually around 15-17.
Keep the revs below 2 grand, that will be the best thing you can do. Of course, empty out the bed of junk and keep the tires up to pressure.

At high altitude, lots of hills, heavy traffic, bad roads, California blend gas, winter mix two thirds local driving my worst tank was 15.9. Most tanks are 17.0-17.4. Going to Vegas I get 21 at 65-75.
However, I have a light weight tonneau (Aluminum Fold-a-Cover) improved intake, Cat back, tuner. Regular cab.
ScanGauge to monitor and learn the best driving techniques.
And I've been driving for 40 years, which also helps.
I don't waste gas accelerating but am careful to get the most for my throttle. That means I am seldom the fastest from the light, never the slowest.
I let my foot off the gas much earlier than most as these trucks 'coast' great.
If the truck was slightly lower geared I feel it would get better around town mileage. It is really optimized for highway speeds, flat ground. There it is nothing less than fantastic.
