Traction Bars

Alright guys I need some help I'm going to order my lift kit in a month or so and i'm trying to find a set of traction bars (ladder bars) to put on also. I dont want the ones that hang down. I had a set on a blazer a long time ago and they were the kind that mounted on top of the axle and stopped it from twisting under heavy use. Anybody know where I can find them? The one I had where made by Desert Steel But I cant seem to find any info or even ones that asre similar.

Any help would be great.

I've been looking for the same thing, might have to fabricate something ourselves.

Those are really cool, exactly what I am looking for. But will those fit our trucks? Looks like that is jeep stuff. That kit is only $300 for the ones in the pic......

looks like it is custom made

in the article, it seems like the company is making them. You might contact them and see about making them for a Ford. Maybe they have that.

Ok, I contacted Rick from Sam's 4x4 and he said one option he had for these trucks was a 49-1/2" heavy duty bar (the yellow one) and a cross member (frame rail to frame rail) to mount the front joint. He has one of these in the shop and he wants $479 for it. The cross members he sells are $119. He said to go and measure from the bottom edge of the rear axle housing where the plates will be mounted, up 49-1/2" to where the cross member would mount, even with the bottom of the frame rail and see if it will work. I still haven't gotten the truck back from the dealer so I can't go and measure right now. If any of you wants this setup, give him a call I guess because I don't want to go welding stuff quite yet. I ended up going with a pair of the superlift's "torque max" bars from ultmate auto accesories here in NC. I'll report back on how well this setup works and with pics as soon as I get my truck back!

I am making some for my truck in the next week or so, I just bought the material today. 3/4" heim joints left and right thread and inserts for 1.315"od x .133"wall tubing. My truck is lowered so I really have a clearance issue but I will be making a plate that will bolt to the bottom of the spring plate through the existing ubolts, welding brackets that will extend no farther than the lower shock mount and I will be tieing into the frame just were it starts to kick up for the rear axle roughly 45". These should work for 4x4's and not limit your ground clearance. I will post pics when I finish building them.

Just went on ultimate auto accessories web site. Were the ones you ordered part #20110? Wanted to order them. Suffering axle wrap with my f150. Is your truck with the 6.5 foot bed? If it is, your set up will fit mine. Thanks.
