What to do?
Everytime I acclerate and get to a speed when I left off the gas the gears like downshift. but it's a hard downshift.. it's not like a clean one.. What would you say to do? when I had it checked for the service engine soon thing on we told them to check that but they didn't..

Adjust your Blinker Fluid Pressure Valve and repack the muffler bearings.... :)
Seriously though, sorry to hear your having trouble. Take it back to the dealer and tell one of the service writers to come with you for a quick trip down the road so they can personally hear the trans downshifting. Is it doing so when you have constant pressure on the throttle or are you taking your foot completely off the accelerator? Let us know how it goes. |
Taking it totally off the acclerator.. I mean it only does it sometimes.. but when it does I'm like GRRRRRRRRR but also yesterday I filled up well not filled up but put 22 gallons in for 50 bucks wooho! lol.. But it filled it up but anyways I had gone 362 miles on those 22 gallons and if you divide that up! it's ALMOST 17MPG!!! lol I only WISH that was right..

I know what you are talking about, it used to happen more often than it does now but I have tailored my driving habits to it. I don't think there is anything mechanically wrong with our trucks, jut if you drive it like a race car it's not going to perform like one obviously. Try not to gun it out of turns so much and then immediately let off the accelerator.

Wanna make it show up even more? Try this, turn the o/d off then get up around 50 let off and back on the gas real fast.
I had my valve body replaced in the tranny not long ago for this issue, now my tranny is almost shot I think. Much worse than before. I can't wait to get rid of this thing. |

Run it up to 50 with the overdrive off, then roll off the throttle real quick? Why are you trying to drive it in a manner that it wasn't designed to be driven?
There may be an updated PCM calibration for a harsh 3-4 or 3-2 shift, I forgot which exactly. |

There may be an updated PCM calibration for a harsh 3-4 or 3-2 shift, I forgot which exactly. How can it not be designed to do that? So if I have the o/d off going 50, someone pulls infront of me on a 4 lane I let off the gas check my mirror and get back on the gas to pass them in the fast lane thats a manner it wasn't designed for? |
The way you described it, it's as if you're riding around purposely with the overdrive off, rolling on and off the throttle.
