Be prepared for the possibilty of the Super Chief look in some way on the new F-150, especially the bold grille. According to Ford Execs on the TV show Autoline Detroit the "big horizonal bar" look as seen on the new Fusion is the front end style Ford is planning to use in the future on many models. This look was first seen on the Ford 427 Concept car and due to market research the front end was so widely accepted it was later used on the Fusion. Now the new the Super Chief front style supports that info.. see photos below.

I just bought my truck about three weeks ago... 2004 Supercab 4.6 2wd
I was set on spending less and buying a used 2003 with low miles on it because there are still a lot out there. I would have saved around $4,000 in the end. That was my big thing, "well there can't be THAT much difference."
My truck popped up for sale at a decent price a dealer that had a 2003 I wanted to look at, so I drove 1.5 hours and looked at both. I drove both, sat in both, ect. ect. and can honestly say that the 2004 is hands down the better truck for comfort, driving, ect. ect.
The 2003 felt like I was still sitting in my 94 Ranger, the 04 seemed like I was on the couch in my living room. This may not have as much bearing if you are 5' 7" or something, but Im 6' 3" 250, so size did matter for me.
Buy what you like, and you should like the '04
(the Super Cheif is cool, but it looks a lot like that Bronco concept from a few years ago)

I dont know guys, Ive had 4 of the 97 to 04 body styles, and this is my first new body style 150, my first impression on the new 150 that it feels heavy and not as peppy as the old ones, and i do not like the drive by wire by any means i can feel lag all the time, they say this will change with a programer though but thats another 400 bucks. I can not feel the added hp this new 5.4 has over the old one. I'm diff. a ford guy and can app. the new look but the old look was hard to beat in my opinion. I know this is not the lightning that I had but you guys that haved owed both have to admitt that these trucks feel a little heavy. Oh well If I going to gripe the new interior cloth looks great untill anything comes in contact with it including water lol, what where they thinking this is the interior of a truck.

I mean even though the cab and bed are all one piece, I guess its not really a truck.

Been sniffin' fumes of some sort? The 2004 is a real truck. It looks like a real truck. The 2003 body style kept me from buying a Ford. It looked like a chick truck. Too soft and rounded.
I mean no offense. Just my opinion.

+1 on the diesel. The 250 PS SD is my next truck, new body or not!
