I posted something about HIDs high and low beams but was misled by the company selling them. It said on their website that they had a kit for High and low beam HID for H13 bulbs. I was curious how they accomplished this so i called them. After a very rude guy answered the phone(seemed like he didn't want to be bothered with questions that I had) he told me that it was a safety feature built into the harness so when flick your high beams on the low beam HIDs don't turn off. I was very disappointed and it was sort of false advertising. I'm glad i called and didn't just buy then off the net.

Dont they have HID systems that simulate High Beams by tilting the bulb up automatically when you use your high beams.

If I'm not mistaking the only bulb that is currently made like that is the H4 which is known as bi-xenon. Hopefully more of the other ones will be made like 9007 and our H13's.

Well I might have spoken too soon. I might have found bi-xenon HIDs for h13, 9004, 9007 here...

It looks like it uses 2 different wattage for the ballasts. 35w for low beam then 50 w for high which projects the beam 20 feet further.

those kits are garbage....and i thought they banned the sale of them.
you can't just throw a rebased hid bulb into a halogen projector style headlight. it will throw too much light where it's not supposed to be...into oncoming traffic's eyes....this is why they banned them. i've seen a few cars that were definitely 'kits'. these 'kits' will ruin it for the rest of us that know how to retrofit projectors properly into halogen housings and aim them correctly. there are a couple retros into F150's, but i think they have to be able to compensate for a truck being a truck....if you put a load in the back or tow a trailer, those headlights will have to be able to compensate for the change in attitude....usually done manually. i even had to adjust the headlights in my accord when i had luggage and ppl in the back.
