You guys were right about the oil filter! I started with a oil filter socket, then went to oilfilter strap. No go! :o I began to crash the filter and started to panic. First oil change and it's turning into a nightmare. All I can think is my wife is going to kill me when I tell her I have to get the new truck towed because I f'ed it up.
I calmed down and went to the neighbors and borrowed some gaint channel locks. Bingo it did the job. When I finally got it to turn I noticed that it would return to original position! Ford is installing these filters at the factory without putting oil on the rubber gasket.

For the first oil filter change, this is the tool you need.....

Costs about $10 and worth every penny.

After the first one, the rest should come off by hand.

This should be a lesson to everyone to try to remove the factory filter on a vehicle. I did it once on a Mazda Millennia...and never again!

I'm not lazy, I just don't want to mess with the disposal. If I could only get them to remember that it takes SEVEN quarts of oil.

Question Question

Did anyone else cut their hands up in like 20 places trying to get the filter off???

I changed my oil last weekend and I STILL have scars all over the back of my right hand...
