Molded Splash guards AND nerf bars

Anyone have molded splash guards and factory nerf bars on their truck? I took my truck down a muddy gravel road for the first time this weekened and the nerf bars were covered in mud. Mud all over your pants if you rub in on the bars, mud on your shoes if you step on them.

Anyway, I started to look at putting mud flaps on and I noticed the bar on the drivers side nerf bar sticks past the wheel well opening just a bit. I checked the passenger side and it is OK...it ends just a little behind the wheel well. I don't know if I can get a splash guard on the driver side because of this. I crawled underneath and saw they were mounted in the proper holes, but it appears that both nerf bars are identical. In other words, there doesn't appear to be separate holes in the bar for driver or passenger side, so they aren't even. There is no way to move the driver's side bar back without drilling new holes (that ain't gonna happen!). Anybody have any ideas? Do you have the same bars with mud flaps? These bars were added by the dealer since they weren't on the truck from the factory? Mix-up at the dealer maybe? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

You can see what I'm talking about with the following pictures:

WTF??? that looks like you have two right side bars installed on your truck! From what I can see the driver's side bar is the exact same as the passender side. That's not right dude. Might wanna talk to your dealer.

Here's pic of Ford splashguards with Westin bars. You should go back and have them order the correct bars, if your drivers side had as much clearance as the passenger side I think you'd be ok.

Well, it's fixed. I stopped at the dealership and the tech said, "Oh yeah, I can fix that." 15 minutes later it was back out front ready to go. He just had it bolted in the wrong holes. All is well waiting to get my splash guards put on...they are in the garage and will go on Saturday.

Lucky you. If I had taken that to my dealer they probably would have had it for 3 days, and then came back and said nothing was wrong with it.

on my aftermarket flaps which already have the correct holes

front
you remove 2 screws and replace with 2 screws and fender washers
you have to use a sheet metal screw

rear remove 2 plastic push in plugs
insert a metal clip nut
screw 2 bolts into the above clip nuts
you use a 3rd which is a sheet metal screw
oh you have to either remove the rear tires or as i my case the shop raised the lift that was under the truck, truck goes up tires drop down and plenty of room to work

all parts needed are provided in the kit

I think the kit was by husky
was designed for install on my truck with running board
it had the cut out molded in so it fit
the factory running boards stick further forward than the round or chrome bars, so the fit was perfect

there are several husky models for various applications

vendor installed in 10 minutes, he did not charge anything extra
of course I have just purchased a tonneau from them and they added while still in shop

They are attached with screws and the plastic push clip/screw/pin type thingies (I don't know what they are called). I had to cut the old push pins off that hold the plastic protectors in place. Then I had to remove a few screws (1 each side in back, 2 each side in front I think). Then the mud flaps just go on over the plastic protectors using screws and the push pins. All is included and the holes are pre-drilled. Really pretty simple.

Oh, yeah, mine are Ford originals too.

Thanks for the info, glad I won't need to drill more holes. So you left the plastic protecters in place under the new slash guard?
